Celestial Cosmetics new polishes out of this world

Thursday, June 5, 2014

I have some new Celestial Cosmetics polishes to share with you today. Celestial creates some holographic and glitter polishes that are phenomenal.

Celestial Cosmetics is based in Australia and has some heavenly polishes. I was so excited when I received a few of them from Color4Nails to share with you.

The formula is completely amazing. They glide on smoothly and all I needed was two coats for complete coverage.

Let's take a look.

First up is an amazing deep green holographic polish called Galaxy Field. This linear holographic polish is jam-packed full of holographic particles. The prisms are primarily blue, green and blue. It is a polish I will wear again and again. This is two coats with no top coat.

Next up is a divine shifting linear holographic polish called Meteoroid. This amazing duochrome shifts from green to bronze and has a hint of gold. Just when I think I have seen the entire range of colors - another shift occurs. It is completely stunning. This is two coats with no top coat.

Now for the glitter polish. Comet Lulin is a bright green jelly based polish infused with multi-sized and shaped green glitter. This is two coats and a top coat of Seche Vite. This bright green reminds me of freshly cut grass.

Marshmallow Soap Company review and giveaway

Tuesday, June 3, 2014

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

Marshmallow Soap? It sounds a little different, doesn't it? But it is a puffy, aromatic, natural, dream of a soap. I received a sample of four of the amazing scents.

What is Marshmallow Soap?

It's a wonderful, fun, floating soap that's eco friendly - cruelty free - vegetable derived - no Paraben, Phthalate and Nitro Musk. These adorable soaps have some magical scents - They call them "flavors," although they aren't for eating. But don't worry, if someone takes a nibble of the soap, it won't harm them.

I received the following flavors:
  • Bubblegum,
  • Butterscotch,
  • Honey Harvest, and
  • Love Spell.

The Bubblegum and Butterscotch scents are just as they are named. Honey Harvest is warm beeswax, fresh honey, hints of almond and oatmeal. It smells scrumptious. Love Spell has fruity sweet notes of Italian Bergamot, White Lady Peach and Strawberry mixed with middle notes of Apple Blossom, African Tamarind and a touch of Damask Rose. The base is Tonka Bean, and Coconut Milk.

I tried all of the soaps. The Honey Harvest is my complete favorite of the four - although it was really hard to pick a favorite. I have to admit... the soaps are so pretty and decorative that I didn't really want to use them. But after using them, I can't imagine a luxurious soak without a Marshmallow Soap. They lather up with a creamy, luscious scent and a rich lather. The end result is fresh, smooth, moisturized skin.

The soap is squishy and soft, so I honestly thought that one bath would be the end of them. But they last quite a long time. I keep mine on a slotted soap rack so they can dry between use.

I know these would be completely entertaining for children during bath-time. But I would have to order them their own as I am not sharing mine! And there are scents for young and old alike.

These are natural soaps. Natural Soap is very different than a detergent based soap you purchase at a local grocery store. Natural soap is rich in natural butter and oils which need to naturally absorb into the skin and dry to feel the real softness they lend to the skin. I don't think I will go back to detergent based soaps after using these. In fact, I am already preparing my list to order some more flavors.

There are tons of choices for you on their website. From singles for $2.75 to a standard tube for $7. And for every two marshmallow soaps sold, Marshmallow Soap Company donates to: Victims of Domestic Violence, Local Orphanages, Women, Men and Children affected by HIV/AIDS.

Now for the giveaway!

Marshmallow Soap is offering a chance for two of you to win a standard 5” tube of a single flavor picked at random of Soapy Marshmallows. The giveaway is open to US only (sorry folks) but if you have an U.S. address feel free to enter. You must be at least 18 years old to enter. The giveaway ends at midnight on June 15, 2014. Gold Elements Hand and Nail Care review

Monday, June 2, 2014

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

Nail care - it's the one thing we overlook... but the one thing that can make a huge difference in the overall look in a great manicure. I have Gold Elements nail care to share with you today.

This nail care kit has most everything you need for a great, well-rounded manicure and healthy nails.

The kit contains:

Hand and Nail Cream: A gentle, protective and soothing hand cream to protect your skin.

Cuticle Oil: Deeply soothe, moisturize and nourish the cuticles. Ideal when buffing your nails, your cuticles will be softer and your nails stronger looking.

Nail File: To smooth away rough nail edges and shape your nail faster and easier.

Buffing Block: A fantastic buffer which grants a beautiful gleam to your nails   and assists in stimulating the blood circulation underneath your nails, which encourages healthy growth.

Let's take a look at each item.

The file and buffer are nice. You can never have enough files. I can't seem to find the grit on this one but it seems to be a medium grit on one side and a finer grit on the other. It isn't flimsy and stands up to some serious filing.

The buffer is a four-sided block with different buffing levels. I have a lot of ridges in my nails and sometimes buff them. But honestly, I try to stay away from anything more than a light buff. I did try this one and it works quite well.

Cuticle oil - let me hear you say it... "Cuticle oil is my friend..." Dry cuticles quickly detract from your perfectly executed nail art. This is .68 fluid ounces of intensive cuticle oil. The small tip allows you to put it where you need it - without wasting any of the precious oil. It absorbs into the cuticles nicely and doesn't leave a greasy film.

The Hand and Nail Cream is perfect for the before bedtime routine. It's nice and thick and doesn't leave a greasy film on your hands. It only takes about a dime sized amount to be effective.

This Gold Elements Hand and Nail Care Kit works well. I have been using it about a week and have noticed that my hands feel softer and my cuticles look more healthy and nourished. The only thing I didn't really like about it is the scent. It isn't a bad scent, it just isn't infused with soft fragrances.

This kit can be purchased online for $49 at http://gold-elements.eu/skincare/category/hand-nail/gold-elements-nail-care-supreme.
