Barielle Velvet Collection swatches and review

Monday, March 3, 2014

Barielle has created some gorgeous polishes. I have enjoyed the majority of them and today I am excited to say I have the new Velvet Collection to share with you!

There are six lovely, soft and seductive polishes in this collection.

Now when I first heard the name I thought they would be textured polishes. But they aren't, and to be honest that is okay with me. I like some textured polishes, but they have to be just the right formulation for me to enjoy them. These are gorgeous creams and shimmer polishes.

The formula for these is great. All but one polish was opaque in two coats and they quickly dried to a high gloss shine.

Let's take a look.

A Little Exotic is a wonderful shade of... well the best way I can describe it is as a warm, rosy, almost brick red. This is two coats with no top coat. Look at that shine! I love this cream polish.

Cream N Sugar is a fun jellyish creamy tan shade. This one is extremely sheer. I used four coats for this one.

My Tan Blazer is a warm khaki tan shade and is a cream polish. This is a fun color and I can picture it in all types of nail art. This is two coats.

My Week Away is a shimmery rosy nude shade. This is two coats and it's perfect for days when you want subtle class.

Sexy Mood is a divine deep orchid shade of polish. This cream polish is a shade that should be in everyone's arsenal.

Uptown Girl is a chic creamy off-white shade. This cream polish will be fun to use on its own or as a canvas for nail art.

Due to a shipping incident, the Sandies didn't make it. However there will now be SIX winners of the Brazil mini set.

Peacock nail art shows off bright colors

I have been wanting to try a peacock themed nail art for a while. I finally got the courage to try it last night. I love blues, greens and purples together. There is just something royal about the combination.

So I grabbed my nail art brushes, dotting tools, polishes and set to work.

I think I like him! He is definitely trying to show off his plumage. I used Zoya Song for the brilliant blue, Zoya Giovanna for the emerald green and dots of Colors by Llarowe Smooth Criminal. The white base is Milani White on the Spot.
