Zoya’s Crusade against artificial nail products:
Since 1993, Zoya Nail Polish and Treatments has provided quality, long-wearing formulations that are free of potentially toxic ingredients. Here’s how the battle against artificial and toxic products was won…

As owner of the country’s first Natural Nail and Skin Spa and armed with relevant information on potential health hazards, Zoya Reyzis was resolute to create a new line of quality professional products that would meet her exacting specifications. Pregnant at the time, she enlisted the aid of her Chemist Husband, Michael Reyzis, to develop toluene, formaldehyde and dibutyl phthalate free formulations that would provide extended wear on natural nails making Zoya the first to develop a “Big 3 Free” formula of nail polish. In the years since the birth of the brand, the commitment to providing safe and effective products has soldiered on with Zoya once again leading the way with the removal of formaldehyde resins and camphor to create the first “Big 5 Free” nail polish brand.
Find the Zoya Naturel Nail Polish Collection and over 300 stunning BIG5FREE* Zoya colors on www.zoya.com. Each and every color has a name as unique as the women who inspired it.
*Formula is completely free of formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, dibutyl phthalate, toluene and camphor.

Peppermint candy nail art tutorial

Where did the last year go? It's that time of year again - holiday nail art! Today I have a cute little peppermint candy nail art post for you. I had done this one previously and decided to do it as a tutorial. It really is easy.

Those red and white swirled candies have been a holiday tradition as long as I can remember. Some of the colors from the OPI Mariah Carey Holiday 2013 screamed peppermint to me. So that's what I did.

Here is the one I did a month ago. My nails were longer and the red stripes swirled a little more, but the concept is the same.

And this is the nail art I did for the tutorial.

I started off with a base color of OPI Ski Slope Sweetie. I love this shimmery white with gold tones.

Then I added a dot of OPI In My Santa Suit to the center of each nail. This adds a centerpoint for each candy swirl.

Then using In My Santa Suit again, I made stripes radiating out from the center. I should have "swirled" these a little more I think. Just make sure that the gaps between each line equal an even number. You can make as many of these as you want.

Then I filled in every other gap with the same red polish.

I outlined the red with OPI "This Gown Needs a Crown." I topped it off with a coat of Seche Vite and there you have it!

Such a fun little mani!

Let's have a look at what was in this bag.

November 2013 ipsy

First up is the Starlooks Gem eye pencil in Topaz. I love the shimmer and shine of this pencil. It really applies with a silk texture.

I also received Nailtini nail polish in Champagne. It is a frosty, shimmery nude with a hint of peach.

Next up is Pixi Beauty Bronzer in "Subtly Suntouched" shade. I love this shade.

em - Michelle Phan Pillow Plush Cushiony Lip Balm in the shade "Creamsicle." It looks orange but actually applies sheer with just a hint of color. And it really smells like a creamsicle!

A deluxe sample size of Tresemme Superior Hold hair spray is perfect. Who doesn't love to have these in their purse or desk drawer.

Hot Damn - well, that's the name of this shade. It's a lip crayon from Be A Bombshell. It's a little bright for me but I think I can make it work.

Are you interested in having a bag full of beauty samples and full-size products delivered to your door each month? You can... It's only $10 a month. Just go to ipsy.com and sign up! (This is not a referral link.)
