Nail it with marbled turquoise nail art

Monday, October 20, 2014

As if water marbling weren't enough - now we have spray water marbling. But the overall appearance is much different. I have my first attempt at spray marbling for you today.

Several bloggers have used this concept, but I took my cue from Ashley is Polish Addicted.

Let's take a look.

I started off with Elevation Polish "The Twinkle in Yeti's Eye," which is a gorgeous deep turquoise shade with amazing shimmer. Then I added random areas of Elevation Polish Tre Cime di Lavaredo, which is a stunning gold holographic shade.

Then for the fun part. (Insert sarcastic laugh here.) Well, it really was fun - I just need to practice a bit. I added a drop of black polish to a small container of distilled water and let it spread across the water's surface. Then I sprayed it a couple of times with rubbing alcohol to get a random pattern. You have to work rather quickly as the alcohol will cause the polish to dry even faster than normal.

I dipped my finger in the water the same way I have for a normal water marble. Then, after all my nails were done, I worked on clean up. I really do like the way this turned out. I wish the black were a little more subtle. But I am sure with practice I will get it figured out.
