Jessica nail polish spam and swatches

Sunday, December 16, 2012

I recently purchased some Jessica nail polish and... wait... I really didn't buy anything for me this time of year. Shhhh. Don't tell anyone.

I have four wonderful shades to share with you tonight.

These polishes have a great formula. A couple of them could actually be one-coat polishes! The colors are wonderful and the shine is amazing. I do wish the dry time were a little faster. But it wasn't painfully slow - it took a little longer than others to dry.

Let's move on to the swatches.

Cinnamon Kiss - is a wonderful, deep, shimmery garnet shade.  This is one of my favorites. This is two coats but I think I could have easily gotten away with one coat.

Dangerously Dark - is a rich vampy wine shade. If you like deep purple shades this one is definitely for you.

Gingersnap - is hands down my favorite of these.  It is a deep bronze shade that has hints of a lovely rosy pink and brown shades.

Iridescent Eye - is a rich gold shade that shifts to an azure blue. It has lots of shimmer to it.

Barielle Carnival Fiesta swatches

Saturday, December 8, 2012

Barielle has released a new collection called Carnival Fiesta. There are five vibrant, shimmery colors in this collection.

Barielle polishes are  “3-free” philosophy on formulation: absolutely none of Barielle’s products contain Formaldehyde, Toluene or Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP).

These polishes applied wonderfully. A quick dry time was an added plus. Even better is the high gloss shine. The formula is amazing. Rich colors with loads of shimmer and shine. I didn't use a top coat on these swatches. These polishes are beautiful.

Let's move on to the swatches.

Holiday Madness - is a wonderful metallic olive green with tones of gold and lots of shimmer. This is two coats.

Jillian's Jammin' - is a vibrant /blue green with shimmers of purple. It is on the sheer side. This is three coats. I am completely in love with this color. It reminds me of the colors of a peacock.

I had a hard time capturing the purple hues in this polish so I took a close up. You can catch the purple here.

Wanna Samba - is a wonderful grey with light purple that shifts with the light. I had to take the photo in high light to show you the color shift. It is a wonderful polish with duochrome properties. This is two coats.

Let's move on to the swatches.

No Big Deal - is an deep black base filled with rich iridescent shimmer (and it is really camera shy). This is three light coats and no top coat.

Sephora + Pantone Universe swatches

Thursday, August 23, 2012

There are some amazing colors in the new Sephora + Pantone Universe Jewel Lacquers. But I will tell you the colors are completely camera shy. It was hard to catch the true color. But they all have super shimmer to them and applied well in two coats.

The polishes had a great formula and the brushes were good. They also had a relatively quick dry time. But my favorite part is the sensational shimmer to the polishes.

Let's start with Evergreen. A deep, rich, shimmery, metallic forest green.

Next up is Parachute Purple. It is a gorgeous, vibrant purple with tons of blue shimmer.

My personal favorite is Reflecting Pond. Of course that means it is blue. A deep metallic, navy blue that simply lights up in bright light.

Another favorite for me is Violet Quartz. Although I have to say I don't see the violet in the polish. It is a deep burgundy metallic polish. Very vampy and quite classy.

Sephora + Pantone Universe Jewel lacquers can be purchased for $9 for 11 ml. These great polishes are available on Sephora.com An OPI is 15 mil if that helps you make the size comparison.

Bottom Line: These polishes will get used quite a bit as the weather cools and we segway into Fall and Winter. I will definitely be watching this line to see what other colors they come up with.
