Color block nail art with Elevation Darkness Collection

Friday, December 5, 2014

Elevation Polish has done it again and released another stunning collection - the Darkness Collection. You can see the swatches of these amazing polishes here

I had to try a color block with a few of these polishes. They are so easy to work with.

I started with a base color of "The Kek" and it completely complemented the other two polishes. I use Nail Vinyls to help make this manicure clean and neat. Once I had the nail vinyls where I wanted them, I used "Yeti was a Shadow 2" and "Dusk @ Hovd." These polishes applied smoothly and oh-so-easily.

I topped it off with a coat of HK Girl.

This is the mantra of the shoppers that venture into the chaos of Black Friday. But here is something you can get from the comfort of your own home.

Let's take a look

Three holographic polishes and two sheets of holographic nail vinyls in a gift box will be available from four online store locations.

Silver nail vinyls highlight the polish perfectly. Of course I had to use the nail polish bottles with the brushes.

This shade will be perfect for those outdoor holiday events, or simple nights by the fire. This is two coats with a top coat of HK Girl. NOTD: Holographic french tip nail art

Thursday, November 20, 2014

I have some easy nail art to share with you tonight. I rarely show my bare nail; although I love the look. This easy nail art will be perfect for any season or outing.

I used Elevation Polish Tre Cime di Lavaredo for the tips. This gorgeous holographic gold is the perfect shade. Nail Vinyls french tip guides made this oh-so-easy. Then I added curved lines and dots with Elevation Aiguilles.

I love the simplistic appearance and the quick application of this nail art.

Barielle: Jetsetter Collection swatches, review and nail art

Sunday, November 16, 2014

Did you know Barielle got its beginning by creating products to condition the hooves of million-dollar thoroughbred racehorses? So if those owners of those elite animals trusted the product I think I can too. Actually, Barielle is one of my favorite brands. It's formula is usually spot on. The Jetsetter has six gorgeous, rich shades.

The Jetsetter Collection for Winter 2014 highlights the high fashion colors for the season. It has a sophisticated palette combination of trendy shades.

Let's take a look! These swatches are shown with two coats and a top coat. I also created some easy nail art using two of the polishes and NailVinyls.

Kiss Me Kate is a creamy nude beige shade. It's perfect for the days you need to be a little more subtle, or as a base color for nail art. I had no application issues with this polish.

Opposites attract - fun geometrical nail art

Monday, September 22, 2014

I have some fun geometric nail art to share with you today. I discovered a nail product that is life changing. Yes, it's that good. This product has transformed nail art for me.

Geometric Nail Art
Geometric Nail Art
If you have ever done a tape mani, you will know what I am talking about. Scotch tape and nail art tape make creating straight, clean lines much easier. But they create some problems of their own - scotch tape gets creases and is hard to fit to the curve of your nail. Nail art tape will rest flat against the nail, but is a beast to work with. Have you ever "lost" the loose end of your nail art tape?

Geometric Nail Art
Now there are Nail Vinyls. These little blessings are amazing. They are pre-cut and so easy to work with as they fit the curve of the nail oh-so-well. They come in a variety of designs.

For this mani, I used the french tip guides. This is not quite what they were intended for, but I love the finished look.

I used Zoya Sailor for the base color and staggered the Nail Vinyls length wise on my nail. Then I applied a coat of Zoya Kelly and removed the Nail Vinyls. I repeated these steps (but alternated the direction of the Nail Vinyls) with Zoya Blu and Breezi.

I finished it off with a top coat of HK Girl.

Have you tried Nail Vinyls?

Blog Fest 2014 - piCture pOlish and nail vinyls

Monday, August 25, 2014

I am delighted to participate in the piCture pOlish Blog Fest 2014. This, of course, features piCture pOlish and this year includes Nail Vinyls. It's an annual celebration of manicures, nail art and fun. Bloggers from around the world are participating in the event.

Let's jump straight to the best part of all - the swatches and nail art!

piCture pOlish sent me the stunning polish "Cosmos" by Pshiiit Boutique and I was humbled by the true shimmery finish. This navy blue jelly polish has gorgeous scattered holo and a dimension that will astound you. I know it did me. It dries completely flat on the nail as it has no glitter. I found that after I swatched this one, I just didn't want to take it off.

Let's look at this happiness in a bottle. This is two coats with a top coat.

Now that you are thoroughly hypnotized, let's move on to the nail art created with piCture pOlish and Chevrons.

I used piCture pOlish Sunset and Violet Femme. Violet Femme is a vivid purple creme polish. The color is amazing and it applies famously. Sunset is a vibrant orange creme that fits its name. The two colors complement each other and create a stunning mani.

The Nail Vinyls are so easy to work with. I had only worked with scotch tape before. These vinyls conform to the shape of the nail easily and there are no bubbles after application. The "clingability" is amazing.

I applied two coats of Sunset and let it dry. Then I applied the vinyls in a diagonal, which give the appearance of stair steps. Then I applied a coat of Violet Femme and quickly removed the vinyls. It was oh-so-simple. I will be ordering more of these vinyls to create quick, yet stylish nail art.
