Sally Hansen Magnetic polish swatches and review

Friday, June 15, 2012

I am excited to share Sally Hansen Magnetic polishes with you. It seems everyone has been jumping on the magnetic bandwagon lately. But I think Sally Hansen has nailed this one. This formula has been developed with metallic particles to create a pattern on the nail using magnetic forces.

Sally Hansen Magnetic polishes come in eight colors: Golden Conduct, Polar Purple, Silver Elements, Kinetic Copper, Red-y Response, Ionic Indigo, Electric Emerald and Graphite Gravity.

I will be sharing Golden Conduct, Graphite Gravity and Polar Purple with you.

Golden Conduct
Golden Conduct is a glowing copper color. It's great for warm skin tones.
Graphite Gravity
Graphite Gravity is a glistening black that changes to a gray where the magnet pulls it.
Polar Purple
Polar Purple is a great deep purple color. The design changes it to a light shimmery purple.

The polishes apply easily and dry relatively quickly. To apply the polish shake the bottle first to activate the polish. Apply a thin coat and let dry for about 10 minutes. Then apply a thick coat to one nail. Rest the magnetic cap on your cuticle area being careful not to let the lid touch your nail. Hold it there for about 10 seconds and remove. You will have a gorgeous design. Then simply move to the next finger. I laid my finger on my table and rotated it slightly so I could see how close I had the lid to the nail surface.

Sally Hansen Magnetic polishes are $9.99 and can be purchased at most drugstores or anywhere Sally Hansen polishes are sold.

Bottom Line. Sally Hansen Magnetic polishes polishes that provide a 3D effect. I will definitely be grabbing some of the other colors. Sally Hansen consistently makes polishes that apply easily and look great.

The products in this post was sent to me for review.  I was not paid for my review of this product and all opinions are my own.

Claire's Magnetic Polish - I'm "drawn" to it

Wednesday, January 25, 2012

I recently read a review of Claire's Magnetic Polish by Cosmetic Sanctuary and I just had to run to Claire's and get some for my very own.

I used the rose colored polish and was positively enthralled with the results!

It looks almost brown in this photo but it really is a rich color of rose.  I used two layers of the polish and then just simply rested the lid on my cuticles for 10 to 15 seconds. The magnet has a really nifty little rest for just that purpose. I still managed to hit my nail on one of them though. (I am a klutz.)
Just like in a couple of the reviews I read the polish brush was a little wonky. But it worked fine with a little extra care. If for some reason you lift the magnet a little to early do not put it back down. It just smudges all the gorgeous lines created by the magnet into a big blob.

If you want the look of the magnet polishes without a huge cost this is the brand to get. It was about $8.50 and it had a special of get one and get one at half price.
