Far East Floral Nail Art

Tuesday, September 30, 2014

Holo, florals and elegance come together in this rich nail art look. Darling Diva's "The Alchemist" from the WitchEE collection simply screamed for a leading part in a far east inspired nail art look.

For this look I used two coats of Alchemist for the base color. Then I used black and white acrylic paint for the flowers and leaves. If you didn't know before this post - I simply love creating floral nail art. I can't help myself.

I added accents on the flowers with Darling Diva "Cast a Spell," which is an amazing autumn orange holographic nail polish. It just seemed to add dimension and detail.

Floral patterns can be worn any time of the year. Just change up the colors to fit the season. Or not... There are no rules when it comes to nail art or colors. Wear what you like - when you like.

The Lacquer Legion: Crisp - Autumn leaves

Monday, September 29, 2014

For September's Lacquer Legion theme - "Crisp," I stuck with the traditional version of Fall  - Autumn leaves. This time of year the leaves are at their most brilliant. The vivid oranges, reds, and even greens intermingle into a dazzling show of how beautiful nature can really be.

For this mani, I used a base color of Milani Black Swift. I added abstract leaves using Darling Diva "The Alchemist," which is a brilliant holographic red; Darling Diva "Cast a Spell," which is a perfect holographic autumn orange; and Darling Diva "The Witching Hour," which is a stunning holographic deep green shade. You can see swatches of the full Darling Diva collection here.

I love how the holographic polishes appear jewel-like against the black creme base.

I finished off with a coat of HK Girl top coat.

Darling Diva Nightbird sings in holo

Saturday, September 27, 2014

Do you ever see a polish on someone and immediately think "I must have that!" That's exactly what happened with this sultry, mesmerizing polish - Nightbird, by Darling Diva. I saw this on Lulu's, from Elevation Polish, toes at the llarowe grand opening. And I knew I must have it - NOW.

So off I went to Darling Diva's online store and it magically appeared in my cart. I love when that happens.

Let's take a look at this amazing polish in the sun.

Nightbird is a deep indigo blue holographic (emphasis on the holographic) polish that leans ever so slightly toward purple. It is pure magic on my nails. I used two coats of Nightbird and a top coat of Darling Diva's Pryzmatic PETC. I was at an outdoor event today and I had to keep stepping into the sun to gaze at the holographic prisms and colors on my nails.

Different Dimension Spooky Spooky Collection swatches, review

Sunday, September 21, 2014

Different Dimension has created the Spooky Spooky Collection for all the polish loving ghouls out there. There are some amazing polishes in this five-piece collection. One particularly has my attention.

These polishes will be available for purchase on Sept. 26, 2014 - just in time for you to plan your Halloween manicure.

Let's take a look at Spooky Spooky!

Dragula is an orange jelly based texture polish. It is packed with black and orange holographic glitters. I used three coats. The texture is amazing and the orange and black together definitely give it a three-dimensional appearance.

Give it a different finish with a topcoat for shine and sparkle. I used one coat of HK Girl.

Ghostbusters is a light neon orange crelly polish that is infused with iridescent glitters. I layered it over a coat of white polish to give it some added color. I used two coats of HK Girl to finish it off. And did I mention it glows in the dark?

I am not the best at taking photos of glow in the dark photos. But I think this will give you the idea.

Monster Mash is a perfect Halloween glitter topper. It has orange, black and white multi- sized and shaped glitters in a clear base with added holographic shimmer. I applied it over Werewolves of London.

Thriller is, well, thrilling! It is by far my favorite of this collection. It is a dark violet jelly with amazing shimmer. The shimmer seems to come from within and adds a tremendous depth to the polish. The shade is magical and shifts depending on the lighting. This is three coats. I could have gotten away with two, but the camera can be harsh at times.

Darling Diva - WitchEE Collection sure to create magic

I have an exciting collection to share with you today. The Darling Diva WitchEE Collection, which is loosely inspired by the TV show "The Witches of East End."

This is by far one my favorite Darling Diva Collections. The colors are rich and luxurious and the formula is delightfully easy to work with - they apply easily and cover flawlessly. These are all two coats with a top coat unless I mention otherwise. These photos were taken in different lighting.

The Alchemist is a stunning, magnificent red linear holographic polish that will definitely be an eye-catcher! This polish has immense depth and the prisms emit an array of holo shimmer - primarily violet. It's my favorite of the collection.

Darling Diva's Purple Heart shines bright for veterans

Thursday, September 18, 2014

Darling Diva is devoted to causes. She has released a charity polish for the Disabled American Veterans (DAV). This is a special cause for me. Not many of you know, but I am a disabled American veteran. I spent 11 years in the U.S. Air Force. All of these men and women hold a special place in my heart.

Purple Heart is a gorgeous holographic purple polish that shines bright with prisms of light.

This polish will be available for $17 and all, yes all, of the proceeds will go to the DAV. So you can support this amazing group and also receive a limited-edition, empowering nail polish. (Discount codes do not apply as this is a charity polish.)

I know you want to get to the best part - the swatches. But let me tell you a little about the DAV.
The DAV is dedicated to a single purpose: empowering veterans to lead high-quality lives with respect and dignity. They accomplish this by ensuring that veterans and their families can access the full range of benefits available to them; fighting for the interests of America’s injured heroes on Capitol Hill; and educating the public about the great sacrifices and needs of veterans transitioning back to civilian life.
Okay, now let's take a look at this awe inspiring polish.

Purple Heart is a deep purple holographic polish that emits blue, purple, rosy red and gold prisms of light. It was a dream to apply. This is two coats with a top coat of Darling Diva Pryzmatic PETC. There are lots of photos below. The polish has a wide range of color shifts.

Follow Darling Diva Polish on Facebook and Instagram. You can purchase this amazing polish from the Darling Diva Polish BigCartel store. While this polish was sent to me for review, I will be purchasing some extra bottles for my fellow veterans.
