KBShimmer Spring 2015 Collection swatches, review

Saturday, February 7, 2015

KBShimmer released her Spring Collection for 2015 yesterday and I am excited to be able to share some of them with you.

This collection has 12 great polishes and some fun and exciting nail art vinyls. I will be sharing the vinyls this week. So stay tuned! In the meantime, let me show you a few of the polishes from the collection. Please excuse my beat up hands in some of these photos. I scraped them up when I removed a mountain of tumbleweeds from my front deck.

Let's take a look!

Blue-d Lines is a soft sky blue ultra linear holographic polish. It's soft color is highlighted with multicolor prisms from the holographic sheen. This is two coats with a top coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Blush Money is based on the 2015 Pantone Color, Strawberry Ice. This peachy rose shade shows off gold shimmer indoors, outside in the sun it has a dazzling holographic sheen. This is two coats with a top coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Eyes White Open is a classic white creme polish. This white is almost a one coater. Well, it probably could be for most people. But the ridges on my nails demanded an extra coat. This is two coats with a top coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Ins and Sprouts is a soft green citron shade. This ultra holographic polish comes alive in the sunlight and emits holographic prisms. This is two coats with a top coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Wind Swarm has a mix of purple, gold, white and pink glitters in a pale sky blue base. A hint of micro glitter offers a bit of sparkle to enjoy in the sun. It's based on the Spring 2015 Pantone color, Aquamarine. The glitters rest flat against the nail and application was easy. This is three coats with a top coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Day 9 of the 13 Days of January Nail Art Challenge - rainbow nail art

Wednesday, January 21, 2015

Today's post is Day 9 of the 13 Days of January Nail Art Challenge. A group of bloggers decided to get together and participate in a group challenge for 13 days in January. Today's nail art theme is "rainbow."

I had originally created this mani for the "half and half" prompt, but due to a family emergency I wasn't able to post it. So I thought it was perfect for the rainbow prompt.

I applied a coat of Orly Mirrorball for the base color. Then I added random strips, dots and shapes of the tinted polishes from the Esmaltes da Kelly Soap Bubbles Collection. I love the way they transform and highlight the holo radiance of the Mirrorball. Then I added random dots and lines using Colors by Llarowe Vincent, which is my "go-to" black creme.

I added a top coat of HK Girl and then had an instant art mani!

Darling Diva Monster Crush Collection - Part One - swatches, review

Sunday, December 28, 2014

Today's post is packed full of flakies. Not your everyday flakies either - these are monster flakies! Darling Diva has released the Monster Crush Collection.  This collection is typical of the extraordinary quality of polishes I have come to expect from Darling Diva.

This is a two-part collection. This is Part One of Monster Crush. These polishes are opaque in three coats - or you could wear them over another color if you desire. They are slightly thick polishes because of the flakes. But to me, it just made it easier to get a nice layer of flakes on my nail. Not too thick to work with, but I wanted to mention it.

The amount of flakies and holographic goodness in these polishes is amazing. The shimmer, shine and shift are monster-sized.

These polishes are all shown below with three coats and a top coat of Darling Diva Pryzmatic PETC.

Let's take a look.

Ramagos is a gold to green to blue shifting flakie with iridescent glitter and a healthy dose of holographic shimmer. It does have a slight linear shimmer to it.

Lucasha is a gold to rose to purple shifting flakie with iridescent glitter and a healthy dose of holographic shimmer. The purple seems to be the predominant shift. This is my favorite of the collection. It does have a slight linear shimmer to it.

Cahule is a green to gold to rose shifting flakie with iridescent glitter and a lot of holographic shimmer. It does have a slight linear shimmer to it. The addition of holo just seems to make this polish glow.

Ursha is a copper to gold to silver shifting flakie with iridescent glitter with amazing holographic shimmer. It does have a slight linear shimmer to it.

I love these flakie polishes. One important note: do not shake these polishes. The flakies are pretty fragile in the bottle. A simple roll of the polish bottle should be all that is needed.

Which ones will you be adding to your collection?

Follow Darling Diva Polish on Facebook and Instagram. You can purchase these gorgeous polishes from the Darling Diva Polish BigCartel store for $12 each.

Tami Nail Polish - Skibo Sunset swatches, review

Tuesday, December 9, 2014

I am so excited to be sharing a new-to-me polish with you today. I have a gorgeous polish from Tami Nail Polish to share with you today. Tami Nail Polish is a Scottish nail polish brand. It is custom made by Tami Beauty. This is the first polish I have tried from Scotland. And I must say it didn't disappoint me. The color, holographic shine and formula are amazing on this polish.

This polish is called Skibo Sunset. Skibo Castle has history going back to the 12th century. Maybe someday I will be able to visit it and see the gorgeous flowers that are the inspiration for this amazing polish.

Let's take a look.

Skibo Sunset is an amazing holographic magenta shade of pink that is mesmerizing. It applied flawlessly - creamy and smooth. I used two coats and a top coat for these swatches.

Elevation Polish Darkness Collection swatches, review

Sunday, November 30, 2014

Queen of the Night with a DIY decal
made with Yeti was a Shadow 2
Elevation Polish has done it again and released another stunning collection - the Darkness Collection. Six amazing polishes will be available Dec. 7, 2014. She seems to be consistently outdoing herself with each collection. I am so excited to have the opportunity to share these with you.

Let's take a look.

I will start with the non-collection polish.

The Kek (also known as Kekekabic) is a soft holographic olive/khaki shade that shifts to a pinkish purple shade. The pink shift adds an amazing depth and glow. This polish applies oh-so-easy. The Kekekabic Trail, is also known as "The Kek." It is a hiking trail that runs about 41 miles near Ely, Minnesota. Forty-one miles? I think I will just enjoy the polish instead. This is two coats with a top coat.

There wasn't much sun out when I swatched these. But here it is with the tiny bit of sun that was peeking from the clouds.

Now let's move on to the Darkness Collection.

Darkness of the Arctic 2 is a near black polish with a strong brown tendency. It has gold, bronze and copper shimmer. The shimmer is perfect. The flakes and shimmer are subtle, yet add a stunning optical illusion. It dries perfectly smooth. This is two coats with a top coat.

Lost in the Darkness 2 is a dark forest green holographic polish with soft gold micro shimmer. I think this may be my favorite from the collection. Although I keep changing my mind. This deep scattered holographic polish shines bright in any light. This is two coats with a top coat.

Queen of the Night is a dark blackened purple creme. It almost appears black in low lighting. But the true purple shade of this polish refuses to remain hidden. Add a little light and the purple comes to life. It applies amazingly well. This is two coats with no top coat.
