I have five colors for you today.

Zoya Gloss Collection swatches

Thursday, July 19, 2012

The Zoya Gloss Collection. A sheer jelly collection from New York Fashion Week 2012. "Haute" off the runway. A new color collection for fall.

Jelly polishes are a "buildable" formula. Meaning you can build the polish up to provide the coverage you want. I used three coats for each of these polishes. The natural sunlight makes them appear alot more sheer. These polishes have an extremely high gloss. I didn't use a top coat for these swatches and the shine is unbelievable! I completely love the finished look. These jellies have a depth that is quite stunning.

I took photos in both full sunlight and in artificial light so the full range of color can be seen.

Zoya Frida is described as a sheer teal blue jelly gloss. In artificial light it appears as a deep blue/green.

Zoya Katherine is described as a sheer aubergine jelly gloss. Katherine is a Peter Som custom shade. It is a phenomenal shade of eggplant maroon. I made a "jelly sandwich" on my ring finger with 2 coats of Katherine, then one coat of Daul (from the Diva Collection) and then one coat of Katherine.

Zoya Paloma is described as a sheer berry red jelly gloss. It has gorgeous pink tones. I made a "jelly sandwich" on my ring finger with 2 coats of Paloma, then one coat of Zoya Kissy  and then one coat of Paloma. I love this look.

See the Diva Collection swatches here. The Designer Collection swatches are available here.
Zoya polishes are Big 5 Free - all formulas are completely free of harmful industrial chemicals.
Bottom line: I hadn't really tried too many jellies before this. Now I am wondering why. Although it takes a little patience I love the depth and the shine these jellies offer.

All Zoya polishes can be purchased on their website at Zoya.com for $8. But if you haven't purchased from Zoya.com you can click on this link https://www.artofbeauty.com/rd/012F32AA and get a free polish. Add two more and get free shipping too! This is my "Share the Love" link.

Zoya - The Diva Collection

Tuesday, July 17, 2012

Zoya has released their fall collections. And I must say they are amazing. I have the Diva Collection for you today. Zoya has never failed me. Amazing coverage and excellent application. This collection is vampy and rich.

The polishes make me think of fall. And with a heat wave like this that isn't a bad thing. They remind me of sweaters, boots and the wonderful smells and textures of all that is fall. Although the thought of wearing sweaters right now makes me want to run through the sprinklers.

Let me introduce the Diva collection. These polishes are full of shimmer and shine. Zoya does shimmer polishes well and these live up to their excellent reputation. Shimmer, shine, glass flecks and microglitter are quite obvious in this collection. These swatches are all two coats with no top coat.

Zoya Elisa - A gorgeous, vampy and rich red. People either love or hate red. There is no in between. But this is a color that will have you seeing red... and not in the classic sense. This red is rich, classy and vibrant.

Zoya Elisa

Who doesn't love a classic purple? Suri is an unbelievable eggplant purple with shine and shimmer.

Zoya Suri

This is Daul. A wonderful deep purple base with gold micro glass flecks throughout. It positively screams class and elegance with a touch of gold luster throughout.

The Diva Collection
Song - Anyone who knows me knows I love all things blue. Just call me Smurfette. This blue doesn't fail. A deep azure blue with shimmer and shine to rival the best of the smurfs.

Zoya Song

Ah, forest green - Ray is a rich, deep woodsy green. The shimmer and shine are obvious but not overwhelming in this polish. This could be a new favorite for the Fall season.

Zoya Ray

And FeiFei defies the laws of color and shine. A deep gray with hints of purple and blue - and will loads of shimmer and shine in the form of micro glass flecks/glitter.
Zoya FeiFei

Bottom line: Just when I think a color has been done before I am surprised by the rich colors that make me see these shades as if I haven't viewed them before. Zoya's classic polish with the look and feel of velvety, yet shiny elegance. This collection doesn't fail me.

All Zoya polishes can be purchase on their website at Zoya.com for $8. But if you haven't purchase from there you can click on this link https://www.artofbeauty.com/rd/012F32AA and get a free polish. Add two more and get free shipping too! This is my "Share the Love" link.

I love the Hits brand of polish. So I really enjoyed swatching these polishes for you.

Hits polishes are available at Llarowe. Llarowe is a one-stop shop for specialty nail polishes that aren't available in stores.

These polishes provide great coverage. I had one really wonky brush, but the remainder of the brushes were good.

I know you want me to just skip the babbling and move on to the swatches. All of the swatches below are two coats and no top coat. Oh, and in case you had any doubts the blue is my favorite.

Pedra Do Sol is a gorgeous bright blue polish. It is my favorite of the bunch.

Pretty & Polished swatches and review

Indies - the word to some polish enthusiasts is similar to the tune Pied Piper played . It calls to us and soon we are following along and trying to capture that elusive polish.

Pretty & Polished is one of those polish makers lacquer lovers clamor for. Pretty & Polished polishes will soon be available at Llarowe and is available on certain release dates at Etsy. Llarowe is a one-stop shop for specialty nail polishes that aren't readily available in stores.

I have seven Pretty & Polished creations to share with you today.

First up is Freedom Calling. I layered this over Picture Polish Tart. I didn't have to fish at all for the glitter. Multi-shaped glitter abounds in a clear base.

Next up is Hello Dolly. Tons of multi-size and shape pink-toned glitters with white accent glitter in a clear base I put Hello Dolly on over UP Brilho Rose.

Party on my Yacht is a white based polish with tons of multi-colored glitter packed in the bottle. It applies with ease.

Sand art has tons of matte particles - greens, blues and blacks abound in this polish. It actually applied fairly smooth. This is three coats.

Punk'd Up Betty is one of those polishes that requires a little effort in application. Make sure you apply thin layers or it will be lumpy. Pink, blacks and silver are packed into this polish. Personal preference but this one isn't for me. It's one of those polishes that some go gaga for and some can leave behind.

Pool Party actually makes me think of a pool. Multi-color and multi-shape glitter are swimming in aqua blue base. I had to fish around a little for the larger glitters but it wasn't too hard.

Tart has a soft shimmery pink base. Multi-color and multi-shape glitter are plentiful.

Bottom line: The Pretty & Polished polish line is a good indie line. The application was easy for glitter polishes and it dries quickly.

Ozotic 743 and 744 swatches

Sunday, July 8, 2012

Ozotic - it has a wonderful ring to it. I have for you today two wonderful polishes from the Ozotics 700 collection - 743 and 744. These are chrome polishes that catch and reflect the light.
Ozotic polishes are available at Llarowe. Llarowe is a one-stop shop for specialty nail polishes that aren't readily available in stores.

As I was swatching these I couldn't help but wonder "What happens if I dot with multi-chromes?" You will find the answer to that and the photo at the end of this post.

Let's move on to the swatches.

Ozotic 744 is a wonderful, rich shade of light purple chrome. This is a gorgeous color and has a subtle hint of pink.

Now, for my dotting experiment. I used Hits Cutie Pie for the flowers and Hits Trendy for the center of the flower. The dots appear as almost a three-dimensional addition to the overall look. I am definitely going experiment more with this.

Bottom line: This was my first experience with Ozotics and I can guarantee you it isn't my last. I now have some from the discontinued 500 series that I have added to my collection and aare calling my name. is available at shop.llarowe, com for $14.50.

Hits Mari Moon - Swatches

Saturday, July 7, 2012

Duo-chromes, multi-chromes... who doesn't love them? They are positively wonderful with a subtle color shift and shimmer and shine on every nail.

Hits Mari Moon is a good example of this magical color shifting polish. This polish applies easily and dries quickly. They have drastically improved their brushes also. Gone are the wild-bristled brushes and the new ones are smooth and even.

Hits Mari Moon polishes are available at Llarowe. Llarowe is a one-stop shop for specialty nail polishes that aren't available in stores.

Let's move on to the swatches.

I now think I have a new polish in my top five favorites. Cutie Pie is a vibrant, rich polish that shifts from blue to a rich purple/pink. Just slightly moving your hand provides a full spectrum of the duo-chrome magic.
