Smokey Mountain Lacquer Halloween 2014 Collection swatches, review

Sunday, September 14, 2014

This summer has flown by. Now it's time for fall weather and Halloween! I have the 2014 Halloween Collection from Smokey Mountain Lacquers to share with you today.

This collection has four polishes and will be launched at 1 p.m. EST, Tuesday, Sept. 16.

The founders of Smokey Mountain Lacquer finds inspiration through the beauty of their East Tennessee home. The fall foliage and babbling brooks provide them the basis for their creativity.

Let's just jump straight into the swatches.

Boogie Man is a murky green jelly polish. I can't wait to use this in some more nail art. I am thinking a creepy pond mani will be perfect for it. It applied well. This is three coats with a top coat.

Scarecrow Blood is a deep, yet bright orange jelly polish. This color is perfect for those Halloween manicures. I had no issued applying this polish. This is two coats with a top coat.

Of course I had to try a little nail art with the two jelly polishes. I used Scarecrow Blood, Boogie Man and Nail Vinyls.

Night of the Grim is a glitter top coat. It is chock full of micro glitters, bar glitters and round glitters. It is perfect over Scarecrow Blood. I didn't realize when I first applied it that it had skull glitters. So I have added a photo to show them. They do require some fishing to get them on the brush. But they are oh-so-cute!

Cauldron Stew is a black jelly base that is brimming with red microglitters and larger red square glitters. The first coat was streaky, but cleared up with additional coats. This is three coats. It needs a good topcoat to finish it. I used HK Girl.

Smokey Mountain Lacquer Kiss My Aspen swatches

It's that time of year - the time when we all tend to gravitate toward autumn colors. That's my favorite time of Fall - that and when the leaves start changing into glorious rich colors.

So when Kim, from Smokey Mountain Lacquer, gave me the opportunity for a collaboration shade, I had to jump into the fall color and choose a color inspired from the beautiful shades of the trees.

Kiss My Aspen is a rich shimmery, scattered holographic. The deep bronze of the orange is mesmerizing. This polish has an almost metallic finish. The holographic effect simply adds to the overall look of the polish. It shimmers in the light with green, blue and gold arcs of color.

The formula is great and it's easy to work with. This is two coats. Let's take a look!

This stunning three-piece collection will be released this weekend (January 4 - 5, 2014).

These polishes were a dream to apply Let's move right into the swatches.

Afterglow - is a soft white polish with a subtle pink iridescent shimmer. The pink shimmer is definitely camera shy. But I think you may be able to slightly see it in a couple of these photos. I used three coats for these swatches and a top coat.

Smokey Mountain Lacquers - A Walk Through Eden

Monday, November 4, 2013

A little more than a week ago I shared a gorgeous nude polish with you from Smokey Mountain Lacquers. Today I have another of her gorgeous polishes to share with you - A Walk Through Eden.

The founders of Smokey Mountain Lacquer finds inspiration through the beauty of their East Tennessee home. The fall foliage and babbling brooks provide them the basis for their creativity.

A Walk Through Eden is a gorgeous deep and mesmerizing green shade. It reminds me of a priceless jewel. The shade of green is like the deep colors of the forest covered in dew. It is shimmery with a subtle holo. This shade is now one of my favorites!

The polish applied well. Make sure to allow sufficient drying time between layers. It doesn't have to be long - just a couple of minutes. I used two coats and a top coat for the swatches.

Let's move onto the swatches.
