Bold, bright watermarble nail art with floral accents

Tuesday, May 13, 2014

Spring means fun colors - I created water marble nail art with some bright, stunning shades by Seche. It seems to me that water marble is moody. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it fights you with every drop of water and bead of nail polish that is used. When it works, you have to just go with it.

I used Seche Snapdragon and Perfectly Poised for this water marble. Then I reversed the colors and added dots and flowers. If you want to use these two techniques together, make sure not to add too many rings of polish to the bullseye pattern in the water. You want large areas of a single color to work with.

I love the bright pattern in this. It's bold and spunky. Let's take a look.

Seche - 2014 Spring Collection - Perfectly Poised

Wednesday, February 12, 2014

I have a gorgeous Spring Collection to share with you today - Seche! Did you know that Seche makes colors? The company is most widely known for Seche Vite - an amazing fast-dry top coat. But their colors are pretty amazing too!

"The Seche® woman can Conquer the World, one perfectly polished nail at a time. She is dressed Head to Toe in confidence as she steps out to take on the day. Buttoned Up in her best, this Effortlessly Styled woman is smart, sassy, ambitious and quick-witted. She is Perfectly Poised – always looking for the longest-lasting, fastest-drying seasonal shades that remind her to “Keep It You.” To stay true to who she is, she turns to Seche®." - Seche press release.

These polishes are perfect for Spring. Soft, but yet bold enough to be an attention-grabber. The last Seche polishes I reviewed were one-coaters. This collection is pastel so it varied in coats. But I will tell you what each polish required. The formula is wonderful - a high-gloss, fast dry polish that applies evenly.

Let's take a look. Each swatch is with a base coat of Seche Ridge Filler and a top coat of Seche Vite. Both the base coat and top coat are staples in my arsenal.

Keep It You: is a deep rose pink with subtle purple shimmer. The shimmer isn't over the top. It adds depth and dimension to the polish. This is 1 1/2 coats. That means one coat was basically sufficient, but there were some spots I needed to add extra coverage.

Head to Toe: is a creamy nude shade. Perfect for those days you want to be subtle and as a base coat for those nail art ideas. This is two coats.

Effortlessly Styled: is a stunning melon sherbet cream. I love this soft, classy color. This is also 1 1/2 coats.

Perfectly Poised: is a soft marigold cream. I normally don't wear yellow polish. But this one is gorgeous. It's not a true yellow, but a soft and muted goldenrod. I see me wearing this one a lot. This is two coats.

Conquer the World: is a light teal with subtle gold shimmer. I think this teal is my favorite in this collection. This is 1 1/2 coat.

Buttoned Up: is a lavender cream with subtle purple shimmer. Maybe this one is my favorite... I just can't decide. This is 1 1/2 coats

And of course I had to use them in some nail art - soft and subtle spring flowers.

Seche - Clever and Confident Collection swatches

Wednesday, September 4, 2013

Seche? Color? I know what some of you are going to say: "Seche color?!" Yes... You heard right... Seche is doing color! From the makers of Seche Vite comes Seche Nail Lacquer. This month marks the launch of Clever and Confident, 6 new highly pigmented, one coat coverage shades in seasonally spot-on colors. Wait. Did I just say one coat? Why yes - yes I did!

I was skeptical of this claim before I tried them. I have tried some "one coat wonders" and have usually added another coat for the opacity that is acceptable to me. But this truly is a one coat polish. It wasn't really a heavy coat - but don't be shy with it.

I rarely use a top coat other than Seche Vite so I was excited to try this collection. It lived up to my expectations!

Leading a versatile life, the Seche woman is the toast of the town. Her busy schedule and wonderfully witty sense of humor keep her happy, as is. You never know what this silly, but sensible woman will have in store for you… but her intuition assures she is always clever and confident.

Let's move on to the swatches. All of these are one coat and they dried to a high gloss shine. I did not use a top coat for these swatches.

Clever & Confident - is a rich, delectable cream plum polish. Look at that amazing shine.

Happy, As Is - is a gorgeous vibrant raspberry shade. The color is the perfect shade to be worn in any season.

Intuition - is a deep merlot shade with lots of shimmer and shine.

Silly But Sensible - is a gorgeous burnt orange shade. I can't wait to wear this color with autumn colors, jeans and boots!

Versatile - is described as a dark teal cream. It really makes me think more of forest green. But I positively love it. Some greens stain quite easily but this came off without a hint of being a stainer.

Wonderfully Witty - is a deep navy blue. This one is my favorite I think. But then I am partial to blue. This one also didn't show any signs of staining.
