NYC Fashion Queen collection stylish, affordable

Tuesday, September 23, 2014

This fall, NYC, New York Colors, has released the Fashion Queen Collection. It's a collection of nine shades. I have three of them to share with you today. These polishes are created to be quick drying and they actually do dry relatively quickly.

Crown Gold is a shimmery, frosty deep gold shade. It applied nicely, but if brush strokes bother you, you will want to take a little extra time. This is two coats with a top coat.

Queen of the City is a deep shimmery wine shade. This color is gorgeous. This is two coats with a top coat. I did not have any issues applying this polish.

Royal Chic is a rich, deep brown jelly polish. The color is the perfect match for those sweaters and boots worn on crisp fall days. It applied well and dried to a high-gloss shine. This is three coats with a top coat.

New York Color - City Samba Collection swatches, review (partial)

Tuesday, June 24, 2014

I have some fun nail polishes to share with you today - a few of the New York Color (NYC) City Samba Collection. I have also created some nail art with the NYC Showtime Nail Art polishes.

A limited edition color inspired by the vibrancy of Brazil. NYC New York Color is bringing the sexy beaches and sizzling sun of Brazil to New York with a new, limited edition City Samba collection filled with Brazilian fun and flare. Look your sexiest yet with Carnivale-ready nail polishes.

Let's take a look!

First up is an abstract look using Amazon Green as a base color and the Pinkasso and Silverism nail art polishes. I could even use the end of the brush as a dotter. They seemed to dry a bit on the brush as I used them, so make sure to keep them refreshed with polish.

Amazon Green is a luscious minty, frosty green. I love this color. I was concerned that the frost sheen would leave lots of brush marks behind - but it didn't. It's a refreshing shade. I used two coats and a top coat for this swatch.

I love this animal print nail art. I used Sweet Melon as the base color and added stripes using the Silverism NYC Showtime nail art polishes.

Carnival Red is a vibrant red, but not over-the-top red. It has a bit of a melon tinge to it. It is a gorgeous polish that is sure to be a show stopper. I used two coats and a top coat for this swatch.

Palm on the Beach is an amazing green shade that is a muted grass green. I did have to use care applying this shade as it didn't seem to want to self-level.  I used three coats and a top coat for this swatch.

Sweet Melon is probably my favorite from the collection. It is a melon that leans toward an orange shade. It is a classy creme polish. I used two coats and a top coat for this swatch.

Tropicoral is a stunning coral shade that makes me think of seashells. It applied wonderfully and the creme shade is bright, yet subtle in color.

How about some watermelon nail art? This is a quick mani using Tropicoral as a base color and Palm on the Beach on the tips. Then I used the Black Ink Showtime Nail Art polish to add the seeds.
