Maya Cosmetics - Spring 2014 polishes - swatches and review

Monday, March 24, 2014

I am excited to be able to share some of the new Maya Cosmetic polishes with you! The polishes below are part of the new Spring 2014 collection.

I have reviewed several of the Maya Cosmetics polishes and I think I love each and every one. I love this collection as there is a little of everything, for everyone.

Let's take a look!

The first polish I want to share is a matte glitter. I am going to show Beach Baby with and without top coat. I don't normally fall in love with matte glitter. But I love this one. It looks like an antique gold with highlights of bronze. It is truly gorgeous. This is two coats.

Crush V.2 is a gorgeous teal that is deep in color. It's a jelly with oh-so tiny speckles of glitter immersed - giving it a depth that is amazing. This is two coats with a topcoat.

A Different Kind of Buzz is a shimmery, magnificent, royal purple that has a pink glow to it.  This is two coats with a topcoat.

Maya Fall 2013 collection swatches and review

Wednesday, September 25, 2013

I have another gorgeous Indie polish for you today - Maya Cosmetics. Kat, the wonderful woman behind Maya Cosmetics has done it again. Her creations are nothing short of astonishing.

I have three of her latest creations plus a fast dry top coat to share with you today. The formula on these is amazing. They applied easily, smoothly and dried within a relatively quick amount of time.

These new polishes launch on Sept. 27, 2013. From the 27th to the 30th you can get 25% off your total order just buy using FALLSPECIAL as the code.

Her shades are unique and classy. The formula is easy to apply and a dream to work with. She also has introduced a fast dry top coat. Let me show you.

Cosmic - is a dark gray base with green-red shimmer (looks mostly green on the nail); blue, silver, gold, and gunmetal small and micro glitter; and subtle scattered holo. This is two coats with the new Maya Fast Dry Top coat. I call this a "beetle green. It's that true iridescent shimmery green.

Crush - is a one batch wonder. There will be no more after this. It's a blue jelly base with warm pink, purple, and blue micro-flakes. This is my favorite. I love the appearance of the flakes - they add an uncanny amount of depth and dimension! This is two coats with the new Maya Fast Dry Top coat.

Now for the top coat. It applied evenly and easily and I thought it dried extremely fast. No bubble and no wrinkling. It does have a strong smell, so if you have a sensitive nose make sure to take that into account,

These polishes will be available on Maya Cosmetics on Sept. 27. The polishes are $9.5 and the topcoat is $4. But remember to use the keyword FALLSPECIAL to get 25% off of your entire order. That makes the top coat only $3! Don't pass up this deal and remember that when "Crush" is gone, well it will be a sad day for polish lovers.

BeautyPopShop custom Maya Polish

Sunday, April 21, 2013

BeautyPopShop has a new polish in her online store. H2pOp was made by Maya Cosmetics exclusively for BeautyPopShop.

I was lucky enough to receive this polish to share with you. I have reviewed Maya Cosmetics polishes before and I positively love them. The formula is wonderful. It isn't too thick or thin and it dries relatively quickly. The glitter applies evenly and lays flat on the nail surface.

H2pOp - This polish shade name is a play on the chemical formula of water (H2O) combined with a fun "pop" (like in the BeautyPopShop company name) of pink bubbles. This polish is a creamy aqua speckled with multi-size pink hexes and a spray of teeny silver hex glitter.

I love the look of the pink glitter against the aqua. The contrasting colors are very complementary.

Maya Cosmetics - New releases are coming out!

Tuesday, February 26, 2013

I have tried several of the Maya Cosmetics polishes and I must say I am in love with all of them. But these polishes have a special place in my heart.

I talked to the wonderful lady at Maya and she created wonderful collaboration polishes for me and Lisa at Cosmetic Sanctuary. These are designed to go together but of course you can wear them how you want. Sanctuary is a turquoise blue cream/jelly (crelly) polish that has tons of shimmer and is positively gorgeous. Then there is Wyoming Skies which is a glitter top coat.

Now those of you that know me are going to say "You wanted a glitter?" Yep. I wanted them to be a set and Lisa had her heart set on the crelly. But I was elated to be able to help create a polish that had the wonderful colors of the skies I get to see everyday. (Although today you can't see the sky because the snow is blowing so hard all you can see is the white flakes right before they smash into your eyelids at 70 miles per hour.)

Here's Sanctuary! It's a gorgeous, shimmery turquoise polish.

Here's Wyoming Skies over Sanctuary. She completely captured the colors of the skies over the Wyoming mountain ranges. Blues and dusty pinks adorn this glitter top coat.

Maya Cosmetics does it again

Friday, February 22, 2013

Maya Cosmetics will be launching some amazing new colors soon. I recently posted my top ten polishes of all time and a Maya Cosmetic polish was on that list.

Today I have Sprung and Once in a Lullaby to share with you.

Sprung - -is a soft, whispery pale green. It's perfect for Spring and has a subtle holographic finish. This is two coats without a top coat. It's an amazing color with plenty of class, sheen and shimmer. It applies flawlessly and has a quick dry time.

Once in a Lullaby - is a glitter top coat. It is filled with funfetti glitters that sparkle and gleam in the light. The small, round glitters are the color of the rainbow. I think it is definitely the rainbow connection! I am wearing it over Sprung. The glitter applies easily and evenly.

Maya Cosmetics polish swatches

Saturday, January 12, 2013

I have swatched several of the Maya Cosmetics line. Maya is a wonderful polish. It's original,  gorgeous and easy to apply.

I have three of the her newest polishes for you today. And they definitely meet the standards I have come to expect with Maya. The formulas were wonderful. They were easy to apply and a decent dry time.

Let's move on to the swatches.

Grayscale - is a matte glitter polish with micro and small gunmetal, black, and white glitters in a clear base. This is two coats of Grayscale with no base color. It does have a topcoat on to smooth it. I think this is my favorite of the three.

Flyin' Solo - is a Limited Edition glitter topcoat. A mix of gunmetal, blue/purple iridescent, black glitters and shards, with red holo and black hearts! This is a statement polish - Flyin' Solo on Valentine's Day. As with any shaped glitter the hearts required a little extra care in applying. I have it on over Venique Reels of Fun.

Custom polish from Maya Cosmetics

Saturday, December 22, 2012

Maya Cosmetics was my hero and made custom polish for me and a few friends. I thought I was going to have to wait to swatch this until after Christmas. But the recipients have about as much patience as I do and opened their presents before the holiday.

When I contacted the wonderful Kat from Maya Cosmetics I wasn't sure what I wanted. About the only help I gave her was telling her to make it purple. She concocted a splendid purple polish with a subtle holo. I positively love the shade of this polish. It is a almost a true lilac color.

Application was easy and the formula is great. Two coats provided phenomenal coverage. Dry time was pretty quick.

Let's move on to the swatches.
