LAQA & Co. Polish and polish pens review and swatches

Thursday, December 5, 2013

I have a new-to-me polish to share with you today - LAQA & Co. LAQA & Co. is a New York based cosmetic brand that’s about more than just beauty.

I received a nail polish and two nail pens to try out and share with you. They are full of color and packed with shine.

The first thing that grabbed my attention was the packaging.

Mind you, these nail polish pens aren’t just pens or pencils - they’re little pieces of art too.

They cover their packaging in unique artwork by young artists looking to get their work seen by lots of people. And their artists get a cut of the profit from every product purchased. I think that is an amazing concept!

But before I get completely sidetracked on the packaging let me get back to the product at hand.

The first item I tried was the nail polish.

Chubs - is a glorious, metallic gold shade. I love the shimmer and shine in this polish. I used two coats for these photos.

Then I tried the nail polish pens. I have always like the idea of these pens. I love being able to put a polish in my purse and apply touch ups with just a click. There is no worrying about a glass bottle breaking and spoiling the contents of my purse.

It took a bit for me to get used to how many times to click the pen. When you first start make sure you have a scrap piece of paper to wipe any excess polish onto. It didn't take much to prime the brush with polish. One click was sufficient. I found myself only "half" clicking the button on the end of the pen after that. This pen will last for a while.

BMX Bandit - is a "look at me" red polish that isn't over-the-top red. It is perfect for any occasion and the shine on this one is amazing. I used two and a half coats for these photos. The "half" just means that it took me a bit to get used to the brush. I am sure I could do it now with only two coats.

Nookie - is a deep raspberry wine shade of polish. It dries to a high gloss shine. I used three coats for these photos.

I like these. I am going to have to pick up some more to travel with or keep in my purse. The polishes can be purchased for $10 to $11 and the nail polish pens can be purchased for $14 on their website.

Make sure to follow them on Facebook to learn about new collections and releases.

The products in this post were sent to me for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
Due to differences in computer monitors the colors you see may be slightly different from the actual color.
