Friday, November 21, 2014

I have an exciting Limited Edition box for you today - I Survived  Black Friday 2014. Holy holo Batman! The polishes and the Nail Vinyls are insanely holographic.

This collaborative box definitely fits with the Black Friday theme. You will want to be First in Line and avoid getting Trampled by a Shopping Cart. You will Shop Til You Drop and stay Up All Night.

This is the mantra of the shoppers that venture into the chaos of Black Friday. But here is something you can get from the comfort of your own home.

Let's take a look

Three holographic polishes and two sheets of holographic nail vinyls in a gift box will be available from four online store locations.

The holographic nail vinyls from Nail Vinyls add a flair to your mani with ease. Simply remove from the sheet and press on the nail. Add a good top coat to seal your work. This one is shown with two coats of HK Girl.

Trampled by a Shopping Cart by Cupcake Polish is a metallic dusty rose shade of polish. This holographic polish is classy and vibrant. The holographic illusion is strong without being overpowering. This is two coats with a top coat of HK Girl. The photos below are taken in normal indoor lighting as well as direct lighting.

Silver nail vinyls highlight the polish perfectly. Of course I had to use the nail polish bottles with the brushes.

First in Line by Glisten & Glow is a stunning deep plum shade with a vibrant linear holographic shine. The holographic prisms are primarily blue and green with a touch of bronze. This shade will be perfect for those outdoor holiday events, or simple nights by the fire. This is two coats with a top coat of HK Girl. The photos below are taken in normal indoor lighting as well as direct lighting.

This holographic perfume atomizer is the perfect accent for this polish. I used two coats of HK Girl to seal in the design.

Nail Vinyls by nailvinyls.com are also included in this special edition box. I love Nail Vinyls. I consider them to be quite life changing. Especially the guides that help you paint with precision. These holographic nail vinyls are meant to complement your mani. The holographic shimmer in these is strong and is sure to be an eye catcher. Shoes, boots, handbags, nail polish, perfume and more are represented in this set.

Glisten & Glow - Cheers Collection swatches, review

Wednesday, October 1, 2014

Glisten & Glow is definitely making her way in the world today. Today I have the Cheers Collection to share with you.

The Cheers Collection is comprised of five bubbly, holographic, sun catching polishes.

Do you remember the show Cheers? The regulars of the show - Carla, Norm, Woody, Cliff, and Sam inspired these polishes. Now let's see if you remember this...

Making your way in the world today takes everything you got.
Taking a break from all your worries sure would help a lot.
Wouldn't you like to get away?
Sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your name,
And they're always glad you came.
You wanna be where you can see our troubles are all the same.
You wanna be where everybody knows your name.
You wanna go where people know people are all the same.
You wanna go where everybody knows your name.
Okay, now that the song is stuck in my head, and probably yours... let's look at these amazing polishes. All of these are two coats with a top coat of HK Girl. These jewel-toned holos are sure to be the star of the show.

Cliff Knows it All is a medium blue holographic polish with blue and violet micro-flecks. This deep blue sea shade is sure to immerse your nails in color. The sparkle and holo effect are gorgeous. This will even stop that letter carrier, Cliff, in his tracks.

Mayday Malone is a stunning plum-gray linear holographic that's full of blue and violet micro-fleck accents. Sam Malone was mesmerized with his own appearance and this one totally suits his personality. Gorgeous colors shine from this amazing shade.

Woody's Wacky Wit is my favorite of the bunch. This linear holographic deep plum shade is chocked full of holographic particles. They come to life and emit almost as many holographic prisms as Woody had laughs.

(Yells) Norm! is a beautiful aqua linear holographic with blue and green micro-flecks. The colors really come to life in this one. I do think it's funny that this one is named after Norm though. He wasn't exactly know for drinking water (aqua) - he was more of a sudsy beer type of guy.

Glisten & Glow Studio 54 Collection - swatches, review

Sunday, September 28, 2014

I have a fun, slightly textured, micro-glitter polish collection for you today - Studio 54, by Glisten & Glow. The great aspect of these polishes is the versatility. They can be worn on their own as a slightly textured polish, with top coat to completely even them out and provide a glossy finish, or over a base color.

They applied easily and the glitter covers evenly and rests flat against the nail.

Let's take a look at these glittery sensations. I used three coats for each swatch and I had no issues with application on any of them.

Dancing on Star Dust is the most unique mixture of the collection. It contains a perfect balance of lavender, pink, green, blue, black, and gold micro-glitters in a slightly violet tinted base. No one color dominates the mixture, making this one standout from the others in this collection. It's confetti on your nails.

At the Door @ 54 is jam packed with magenta micro-glitters. It also has pink, gold, blue, and silver micro-glitters in a magenta pink toned base. This shade is sure to be an eye-catcher with its bright appearance. The colors complement each other and give it a classy, yet inspired look.

Rubell's Bus Boys has primarily red-toned coral and orange micro-glitters in a similarly tinted base. It also has a beautiful balance of blue, gold, and silver micro-glitters as well. It isn't quite as red as my photos show. The red-toned glitters seem to jump out when I am taking the photo and photo-bomb the shot. It does flash red, but appears more salmon in real life.

The Moon & The Spoon is my favorite of the collection. It has mostly blue micro-glitters, along with gold, red, green, and silver micro-glitters in a slightly tinted blue base. The contrasting colors in this one provide a unique and very noticeable contrast. The overall look is very pleasing to the eye.

Gettin' Dirty with Disco Sally is packed with bright pink micro-glitters in a clear base. The addition of gold, red, pink, black and fuchsia micro-glitters create the perfect sparkling super girly mix. It's bright and stunning.
