Coastal Scents - Coats swatches

Friday, August 31, 2012

I recently purchased one of those Living Social deal packages. It was $12 for a $25 CoastalScents.com credit. I looked around their site and found these polishes which were on sale for 99 cents each. Or I could get the whole set for $25. Guess which option I picked? Yep. I got the set.

For the price I wasn't sure what to expect. I have to say these polishes surprised me -  I like them. Almost all of them needed three coats. But the third coat dried to a high gloss and the colors are great. The polishes also dry quickly. The biggest drawback to these polishes is the length of the brush. The brush and lid are really short and took a little getting used to.

"Coastal Scents has established the COAT Collection; an array of gorgeous nail colors from delicate neutrals and vivid creams to rich metallics and dazzling shimmers. The collection also includes a protective base coat and a shine intensifying top coat for salon perfect nails after every application. All 27 polishes are formulated to dry quickly and to be chip resistant for long wear." - Coastal Scents website

Let's move on to the swatches. This is not the entire set.

Morning Glory is a wonderful bright, bold blue. The name suits it well as it does remind me of Morning Glory flowers. It is probably my favorite polish of the set.

Nebula is a gorgeous deep indigo color with strong tones of purple and has lots of shimmer to it.

Carnation is a wonderful shade of pink that reminds me of - yes - carnations.

Lily Pad is a stunning mint green shade.

Galaxy is a natural brown with copper tones and glimmer and glitz.

Forget Me Not is a beautiful powder blue shade.

Cosmic has a black base with green and gold flakes in it. It is my least favorite of the group. It just seemed to come out streaky and the flakes didn't want to lay flat.

Comet is a gorgeous azure blue with lots of shimmer.

Wisteria is a muted purple. It is another of my favorites of this line.

Tweedia is a very light shade of sea foam green. It is quite shimmery.

Peony is a bright hot pink.

Bottom line: A great polish doesn't have to cost a lot. These polishes are proof of that fact. Coastal Scents polishes can be purchased for $1.99 at CoastalScents.com. But right now they are value priced at 99 cents each.

These polishes were purchased by me and all opinions given are my own.
