Nail care is the behind-the-scenes secret that can make all the difference in the over-all look in nail care. Today I have Nail Butter to share with you. It's a revitalizing spot treatment that can be used to soften and fortify every type of skin.
I have used this treatment for the last two weeks or so. I simply rub a tiny bit into my nails and cuticle area at least once a day. Wyoming weather is brutal. The wind, bitter cold temperatures and arid climate zap the moisture right out of my hands and they become chapped and thirsty. I've tried many products and Nail Butter treats them wonderfully.
The formula is silky perfection and it doesn't leave my hands greasy. The creamy butter seems to melt away into my skin, which makes application a breeze. It is in a small glass pot and I simply swipe the top of my thumbnail into the product and apply it from there. It has made a remarkable difference in the appearance and health of my nails, cuticles and skin.
The scent is wonderful. But, as you know smells are so subjective. This is a fairly strong gardenia scent. But, if it is too strong for you, leave it open overnight to let the scent dissipate. That helped a lot for me. I enjoyed the scent, just not all of it at once. I do
believe she is working on making unscented versions and lightly scented
versions. I can't wait to try those out. Either way, the product is superb and will be used daily in my hand care rituals.
Nail Butter is not just for nails. It's a pure, all-natural recipe of
essential oils and lanolin that can be used on fingernails, cuticles,
toenails, heels, knees, elbows and even feet. It's 100 percent natural
and is used to strengthen and rejuvenate nails by enhancing growth and
maintaining optimal moisture levels for your nails and skin.
I put a bit of Nail Butter on each nail so you can see how little is needed to hydrate your nails and cuticles. I probably even have a little too much on my ring finger.
The glass jar makes for an adorable packaging concept. It's classy and has some substance to it.
Nail Butter believes that less is more. Only pure and natural
ingredients go into our product so that you can feel confident about
getting the best product for your skin without any added chemicals or
side effects. Nail Butter does not contain any Parabens, Sulfates,
Phthalates, artificial dyes or fragrances and is entirely cruelty-free.
Nail Butter can be purchased at NailButter.com for $24 for a one-ounce jar. Since you only use a tiny bit, this product will last quite a while.

SinfulColors: Flirt With Hearts (partial) Collection swatches, review
Tuesday, January 27, 2015
SinfulColors has a collection that will be launched in February. Flirt With Hearts is a collection of eight exciting shades. I have four of them to share with you today.
The polishes were easy to work with and applied well. I used two coats and a top coat for each of the swatches. I love themed collections and the great thing about SinfulColors collections is that they are a nice polishes and you can afford all of them. You can have the entire collection for less than $16.
Let's take a look.
24/7 is a hot pink creme. This flirty, vibrant pink is sure to be an eye catcher. I had no applications issues.
Dream On is a bright boysenberry creme. This brilliant pink leaning purple is sure to steal hearts. I had no issues with application.
Go Go Girl is a sexy candy-apple red creme. This bright red is a classic for Valentine's Day. I had no issues with application.
Rise & Shine is a titillating teal creme that has a subtle shimmer. I had no issues with application. I can't wait to use this color in some bright and cheery nail art. I was concerned that it may have a tendency to stain. But it didn't leave behind any hint of color.
And some simple nail art using Nail Vinyls and a dotting tool.
There are four more shades in this collection to include the following:
- Daredevil - Neon pink
- Decadent - Dazzling red with metallic flakes
- Pinky Glitter - Bright pink with a splash of sparkle
- Love Sprinkles - Limited Edition Bubble Gum pink with white hearts and flecks of glitter

China Glaze Road Trip Collection swatches, review
Monday, January 26, 2015
I have the China Glaze Road Trip Collection for you today. These colors just scream "spring." The shades are interesting and vibrant. I always get excited for spring collections - I just wish spring would come out and play when the collections do.
Let's take a look!"For those with wanderlust, there is nothing better than hitting the open road and chasing the dreams that lie ahead. This Spring China Glaze® celebrates the free spirit who lives for adventure and creates her own experiences with the new Road Trip nail lacquer collection. The 12 new shades are inspired by the vibrant hues of a setting sun as it dips below the horizon. Warm pinks, yellows and reds give way to the cool blue tones of the evening sky. The China Glaze® Road Trip collection offers so many ways to take your adventure on the road and pave your own path." - China Glaze Press Release.
Trip of a Lime Time is a vibrant lime green crème shade. It leans toward yellow. I don't normally like lime green polishes. But there is something about this one that I really enjoy. It applied easily and evenly. This is two coats.
My Way or the Highway is a bright turquoise crème polish. I love this color and can't wait to try it out in some nail art. I tend to favor blue polishes, especially when they are this vibrant and eye catching. This is two coat with no top coat. Look at that shine!
License & Registration Pls is a marine blue crème. Dare I say this? It's blue - so of course I love it. But this is a wonderful shade with lots of pigment. This is two coats.
Boho Blues is yes... another blue. But this soft indigo crème is sure to find its way into lots of manis and nail art this spring and summer. This is two coats.
Dashboard Dreamer is a powder blue shimmer that really thinks it wants to be green - almost. It has a subtle golden shimmer in it that adds depth and dimension. This is three coats.
Wanderlust is a soft powder pink polish with lots of subtle golden shimmer. It is a very classy and subtle polish. This is three coats.
Pack Lightly is a powdery soft peach polish with that wonderful subtle shimmer. It's a great shade for spring. This is three coats with a top coat. It didn't need a top coat for shine or for formula issues.
More the Explore is a sun kissed coral crème polish. I love this shade. This is three coats. I think I could have gotten away with two coats. But I have that pesky ridge on my ring finger that wanted to be obstinate.
Pinking Out the Window is a vibrant pink crème that leans slightly toward salmon. It applied well and that shine is amazing. This is two coats.
I Brake for Colour is an ultra-bright reddish pink crème polish. It is sure to be an eye catcher and I can't wait to use it in nail art. This is two coats.
Pop the Trunk is a bright orange crème polish. It reminds me of beach umbrellas and fun spring flowers. This is two coats.
Sun’s Up, Top Down is a sensationally bright yellow with amazing shimmer. I normally don't wear bright yellow polishes, but this one is going to get used. It applied well. This is three coats.
The Road Trip Collection is available now at supply stores, Sally Beauty and Ulta. Which ones are you going to pick up?

13 Days of January Nail Art Challenge: Complement and Contrast
Today's post is the "complement and contrast" theme for the 13 Days of Nail Art Challenge.
This challenge has been fun and has made me create nail art looks that I wouldn't normally create.
For this one though I created a simple mani. Just a few swipes of a nail art brush.
I started off with OPI Pompeii Purple. I love this deep, shimmery shade. Then I added contrasting lines and dots with OPI Alpine Snow and OPI... Eurso Euro. Sometimes simple is a good thing. I like the overall look of this mani.

Blob blob blobbicure nail art
Friday, January 23, 2015
Today's post is Day 10 of the 13 Days of January Nail Art Challenge. A group of bloggers decided to get together and participate in a group challenge for 13 days in January. Today's nail art theme is the "blobbicure."
While this look is not something I would normally do, I didn't dislike it. I am just not loving it. But I may have to try it again to see what other looks I can come up with.
A "blobbicure" is when you apply drops of polish to wet polish on your nail. It can tend to flood your cuticle areas so be ready for clean-up. And don't be afraid to dab any extra thick areas of polish off of your nail.
I used Zoya Sailor for the base color and added drops of Zoya Rooney and Perrie to the wet base. It does take a bit longer to dry so make sure to add time for that.
What do you think? Is this something you would try?
Make sure to check out the other "Blobbicures" below.

Foil temporary tattoos provide instant nail art
Thursday, January 22, 2015
I love finding ways to get easy, yet gorgeous, nail art. I was browsing through TJ Maxx the other day and wound up in the art section (kind of a strange place for these). I found these fun little body tattoos that looked interesting. They were only $1.99 so I thought what the heck - I'm gonna try it.
There is a large strip of them. This is just one end of the strip.
Let's take a look at how the tattoos look on the nail.
The base color is Elevation Polish Volcanic Dust. I just adore this deep red creme polish. Then I decided to use the chain tattoos. I cut out four two-link sections of the tattoos. I waited until my polish was dry and then put the tattoo on my nail and held a wet paper towel over the top of it for about 10 to 15 seconds. I knew when it was long enough because the white paper backing came off. I applied a top coat and I was done. It was oh-so-simple! The foil chain looks great against the deep red of the polish.
What do you think? Is this something you would try?

Day 9 of the 13 Days of January Nail Art Challenge - rainbow nail art
Wednesday, January 21, 2015
Today's post is Day 9 of the 13 Days of January Nail Art Challenge. A group of bloggers decided to get together and participate in a group challenge for 13 days in January. Today's nail art theme is "rainbow."
I had originally created this mani for the "half and half" prompt, but due to a family emergency I wasn't able to post it. So I thought it was perfect for the rainbow prompt.
I applied a coat of Orly Mirrorball for the base color. Then I added random strips, dots and shapes of the tinted polishes from the Esmaltes da Kelly Soap Bubbles Collection. I love the way they transform and highlight the holo radiance of the Mirrorball. Then I added random dots and lines using Colors by Llarowe Vincent, which is my "go-to" black creme.
I added a top coat of HK Girl and then had an instant art mani!

Darling Diva: Valentine Day Collection swatches, review
Tuesday, January 20, 2015
The creators at Darling Diva have been busy. The release of the Valentine Day Collection is Friday, January 23, 2015 and these polishes are based on bad pick-up lines. We've all heard them and we still find them funny.
The formula on these is great. But I will give you details on each polish.
Let's take a look at this collection.
Are You Medusa? Because You Make Me Rock Hard! is a delicious wine red scattered holo. The kind of holographic polish that seems lit from within. It will be perfect for that romantic Valentine Day celebration - whether you are enjoying your alone time or spending it with that special someone. This is two coats with a top coat of Darling Diva Pryzmatic PETC. I had no issues with application.
Hey Baby! Wanna Make a Big Mistake? is a bright red jelly that is full of flakes, iridescent glitters and holographic shimmer. The shifts in the glitter and flake accents are amazing. This polish has many personalities depending on the angle and lighting. This is three coats with a top coat of Darling Diva Pryzmatic PETC. I had no issues with application.
Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Let's do it in my Car is a vibrant metallic polish with holographic shimmer and sparkle. The sheen is perfectly balance. There's not too much metallic and the holo shimmer is subtly classy. This is a thirsty polish so unless you want a satin or semi matte finish you will need a top coat. This is two coats with a top coat of Darling Diva Pryzmatic PETC. I had no issues with application.
Nice Shoes! Wanna F***? is a soft muted pink shade with holographic sparkle. This shade is perfect for a quiet night and then straight into a morning meeting. This is two coats with a top coat of Darling Diva Pryzmatic PETC. It did dry a bit gritty, but a top coat smoothed it out completely.
That Dress Would Look Great on my Bedroom Floor! is a deep black polish with tons of multi-colored shimmer and holographic sparkle. But it seems the only shimmer that wanted to come out to play with the camera was the blue and silver. Believe me - there's a lot of colors there! I think this is my favorite of the collection. This is two coats with a top coat of Darling Diva Pryzmatic PETC. I had no issues with application.
My Doctor Says I'm Lacking Vitamin U is the only limited-edition polish in the collection. It's a white crelly with multi shaped and colored glitter. It has stars, hearts, octagon and round muted color glitters. This is three coats with a top coat of Darling Diva Pryzmatic PETC. I had no real issues with application. The glitter didn't require fishing and for the most part it rested flat against the nail. Although some of the large glitters did tend to stick up a bit. But that is pretty typical of large glitters with shapes.
Which ones will you be adding to your collection?
Follow Darling Diva Polish on Facebook and Instagram. You can purchase these gorgeous polishes from the Darling Diva Polish BigCartel store.
