It's been a wild ride

This is a tough post to write. I have decided to change my path. Sometimes reality has a way of changing our priorities. This happened to me recently. I need a lifestyle change - one that includes being more active.

I have a full-time job and between sitting at my desk for nine hours a day and then coming home and sitting behind another desk for the rest of the night - I wasn't being active. And I feel it. So that is what made me decide it was time to change my priorities.

I have so enjoyed these last three and a half years. I have met some amazing people and have had an amazing time. But now it is time to move on. Everything has a time and a place. For me, this is the time.

Each one of your comments inspired me. You are what made the blog a fun place to go to. Thank you for following me and including me in your virtual lives.

I thought about doing it on a slower schedule; but I am not one for doing anything part way. So this is best for me. I will still be an active participant of the nail community and will be stalking launches and restocks with the rest of you.

I have to admit, I am looking forward to wearing a polish or nail art longer than a day.

I may occasionally pop in and post a nail art look or a nail of the day.

So again, thank you for being around for the last few years - it's been a wild ride.

  1. This is completely understandable...its like a second desk job, so I've given it a lot of thought but this (amongst other reasons) is why I've never started one of these myself...and I can wear the same polish all week if I am too tired to change it....

Good luck and thanks for all the years of posts! You should be very proud of what you've put out there....

  3. Just like polish, life isn't set in stone. You'll take your amazing experiences from this wild ride and apply them to your more active future. Personal blogs should be attended to only as the person whose blog it is wishes. It's clear you did some tough thinking before you wrote this tough post. I hope for you that this next phase of your life is filled with adventure, learning and the discovery of new interests. You have your priorities straight. Enjoy...and let us know how you're doing only as it suits you to check in. Thank you for all the manis!

  4. I have found that my life is a series of learning and enjoying things in a come and gone manner. And some things stay, but in a less intense manner. I personally do not know how bloggers can keep up with all the polishes - swatching, reviewing, and photographing them all - not to speak of the financial and time drain it is. As much as I love polish, I realize even as a reader of blogs and haunter of nail polish Web groups, a lot of time can be spent in front of the computer! And then there is time at my desk playing with polish.
I think it is exciting for you to reroute your lifestyle. It is only too easy to stay in a routine. And when that routine negatively affects your health, and perhaps interferes with your relationship with people around you, it becomes necessary to mix things up. You will be missed, but I do hope your love of the beautiful liquid gems of nail polish never diminishes. And enjoy that manicure for longer than a day!!!
