Elevation Polish Minneapolish Collection and a limited-edition Yeti: swatches, review

Sunday, February 1, 2015

I have the latest Elevation Polish collection to share with you today - Minneapolish. And there's a wonderful little Yeti polish that has been roaming the streets of the mini apple.

The creator of Elevation polishes never ceases to amaze me with her range of colors and finishes. The formula is always great. This collection was inspired by the area surrounding Elevation Headquarters - Minneapolis, Minnesota.

This collection has five gorgeous polishes. There's also a limited-edition Yeti polish for you to see.

Let's take a look.

Lake of the Isles is a light, yet bright blue. It would best be described as a cornflower blue. This is a new type of finish for Elevation. Elevation calls it a “Gelly.” The first coat applies a bit streaky, but the second coat evens it out and provides an amazing glossy shine. The high shine is like a gel polish, but it has the depth of a jelly. I hope Elevation makes more like this! Look at that shine from two coats of polish.

The Walker is a linear purple holo. In normal lighting it is a soft, subtle purple. But in bright outdoor light it comes to life with prisms of blue, yellow gold and red. This is two coats.

St. Anthony Falls is a white jelly base packed with gunmetal and iridescent glitter. It applied wonderfully and the glitters rest flat against the nail. The sparkle of the iridescent glitter adds a classy depth and dimension. This is two coats with a top coat. Glitters aren't normally my style, but this one is quite mesmerizing.

Mill City Ruins is an olive green with gold shimmer. Better yet, it's a thermal. Elevation hasn't delved into the thermal world much and this one is stunning. It shifts from a darker olive green shade to a lighter one. You can see on my nails the polish is lighter on the nail bed and on the tip it's a little darker. The addition of gold shimmer and flakes adds a gorgeous sparkle. It is a bit thinner than other Elevation polishes. But three light coats was perfect.

Theo Wirth Parkway is a stunning jewel-toned emerald green with multicolored shimmer. This vibrant color will be perfect for those spring days. This is two coats with a top coat. I had no issues with application.

Limited Edition: Yeti Hides in the Mini Apple is a vibrant candy apple red linear holographic polish with red shimmer. This holographic polish is sure to be an eye-catcher. It applied smoothly and evenly. This is two coats.

Which ones are you going to pick up on launch day? I love them all and can't pick a fave. But if I had to pick one and only one, it would be Lake of the Isles.
