Paint Box Polish - Ovarian Cancer Awareness polish - Abigail Leigh

Sunday, August 31, 2014

September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness month, and the color is teal. Paint Box Polish has created a stunning polish to increase awareness and support funding for research. Paint Box Polish will be donating $3 from each bottle of this shimmery teal with iridescent glitter to UnTEAL There Is A Cure. This is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds for ovarian cancer research.

Pam has a personal history with this devastating disease. Last summer her sister-in-law, Abbie, was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and I'm ecstatic to say that she is now cancer free!

Let's just jump to the photos of this phenomenal polish.

Abigail Leigh is a shimmery teal shade with loads of iridescent glitter that adds depth and dimension. This is two coats with a top coat. It definitely needs a top coat to smooth it out. But I always wear a top coat, so that isn't an issue for me. This shade of teal is sensational.

Darling Diva Fischy! Fischy! Fischy! swatches and review

Fischy! Fischy! Fischy! is a special polish. Not only is it gorgeous. It has a special meaning. It is in homage to Darling Diva's Basset Hound that passed over the Rainbow Bridge.

Fischy! Fischy! Fischy! was created in loving memory of Fischer, a wonderful Basset hound adopted through Basset Buddies Rescue (BBR)of Wisconsin. Carrie and Rick are dedicated to rescuing and fostering. They help the organization through not only fostering dogs in need, but also by creating a polish to help with funding. To take it one step further, they sponsor an annual polish auction in which various makers donate polishes to help raise money for this great cause.

Fischy! Fischy! Fischy! will launch tonight, Aug. 29, 2014. It will cost $15 and 100 percent  of the proceeds from this polish will go to BBR to help offset the cost of rescuing so many needy loving pups.

It is an amazing holographic blue multi-chrome. Holo and multi-chrome? Yes, please! The shift from blue to purple is stunning and the holo shimmer makes it even more fabulous.

So not only will be you be getting a gorgeous polish. You will also be donating to a wonderful cause.

Darling Diva Pageant Collection swatches and review

Thursday, August 28, 2014

Ladies, I have a wonderful collection to share with you today. The Darling Diva Pageant Collection, which was inspired by the movie Drop Dead Gorgeous.

These 11 shades are amazing, and definitely fit the movie. The polishes are typical of the quality I have come to expect from Darling Diva - stunning. These will be launched tomorrow, Aug. 29, 2014 at 7 p.m. central time.

The formula is a dream to work with - they apply easily and cover flawlessly. Some definitely need a top coat because of the microglitters, but I always use a top coat so that isn't an issue for me. There are a lot of photos, so let's just jump straight into them. These are all two coats with a top coat unless I mention otherwise.

Take Down The God Damn Freda Sign (AKA Amber) is a bright blue linear holo with micro glitter. It needs a top coat to ensure it is a shiny and smooth as it can be. It positively glints in the light and emits gorgeous prisms of holo goodness. I am partial to blue and this one is amazing!

Beautiful as a Whore's Ass (AKA Becky) is a shimmering beautiful deep purple linear holo with gold microglitter. The holo shimmer in this is stunning!

Amer I Can! is a glitter topper with multi shaped red, white, blue and gold glitters with an amazing shimmer in it. It applies easily and lays flat against the nail.

Choking on Swan Gas is an off-white crelly full of micro gold glitters and blue shimmer. I simply couldn't capture this one with the camera. It was designed to be a "sandwiching" polish. This is three coats.

And here it is with Amer I Can! sandwiched between.

I Got Some! is a light golden yellow linear holo with some golden micro glitters added for additional sparkle and shine.

She Had a Fat Ass Then, She Has a Fat Ass Now! is a stunning coral pink linear holo with golden micro glitter to add dimension and depth.

Jesus Loves Winners! is a John Deere green linear holographic polish. It has added green holo microglitter that provides an extra oomph. It needs a nice top coat to make it shine even more.

Are We On Cops? is an amazing black linear holographic polish with subtle red shimmer and shine.

LSGC is a steely silvery gray linear holog with tons of blue and green shimmer. This gorgeous polish will be perfect in almost every setting.

As Fake As My Orgasms! is a magical magenta toned linear holo with sexy pink micro glitter. This one is a stunner.

A bird on the hand is worth...

Tuesday, August 26, 2014

I love nail art. And sometimes it works out for me. This bluebird in the tree makes me happy. Although, I should have left the bird on the index finger alone. I tried to add wings and now he looks like a phoenix.

This is going to be a quick post. I know everyone is busy with back-to-school and daily activities.

I used the stunning Elevation Polish "Tre Clime di Lavaredo" for the base color. This holographic gold is perfect to wear on its own or as a base for nail art.

I used acrylic paint for the trees and the bird. The trees were pretty easy. Just a few lines and dots of different colors.

The bird on the index nail was pretty similar to the one on the ring finger. But trying to add wings definitely changed his appearance.

I sealed it with a top coat of HK Girl, which is one of my all-time favorite top coats.

Blog Fest 2014 - piCture pOlish and nail vinyls

Monday, August 25, 2014

I am delighted to participate in the piCture pOlish Blog Fest 2014. This, of course, features piCture pOlish and this year includes Nail Vinyls. It's an annual celebration of manicures, nail art and fun. Bloggers from around the world are participating in the event.

Let's jump straight to the best part of all - the swatches and nail art!

piCture pOlish sent me the stunning polish "Cosmos" by Pshiiit Boutique and I was humbled by the true shimmery finish. This navy blue jelly polish has gorgeous scattered holo and a dimension that will astound you. I know it did me. It dries completely flat on the nail as it has no glitter. I found that after I swatched this one, I just didn't want to take it off.

Let's look at this happiness in a bottle. This is two coats with a top coat.

Now that you are thoroughly hypnotized, let's move on to the nail art created with piCture pOlish and Chevrons.

I used piCture pOlish Sunset and Violet Femme. Violet Femme is a vivid purple creme polish. The color is amazing and it applies famously. Sunset is a vibrant orange creme that fits its name. The two colors complement each other and create a stunning mani.

The Nail Vinyls are so easy to work with. I had only worked with scotch tape before. These vinyls conform to the shape of the nail easily and there are no bubbles after application. The "clingability" is amazing.

I applied two coats of Sunset and let it dry. Then I applied the vinyls in a diagonal, which give the appearance of stair steps. Then I applied a coat of Violet Femme and quickly removed the vinyls. It was oh-so-simple. I will be ordering more of these vinyls to create quick, yet stylish nail art.
