Pahlish and Elevation Polish April 2014 Duo swatches

Yesterday, I had the amazing opportunity to be able to meet the wonderful lady behind the scenes at Elevation Polish. It was great to sit for a couple of hours and talk about the world of polish. Her eyes lit up as she spoke about her love of polish making. She truly loves it, and it shows.

She left me with a parting gift.. The new duo that Elevation Polish and Pahlish created - The Budding Bromance Duo. I am excited to be able to share it with you.

The formula of each polish is silky and applies with ease. Let's take a look.

Romance is a light and airy gray with copper microshimmer and blue and green shimmer. This dove gray polish made by Pahlish is classy, chic and completely stunning. I used three coats for these swatches. Two coats would suffice, but the camera usually requires an extra coat. It was difficult to capture the shimmer in photos.

Bromance is a clear topper with winter white squares and hex, sparse matte grey glitter, scattered red-green shifting flakies, in a soft holographic shimmered base. It applies like butter and the glitter evenly coats your nail. The combination of these polishes is completely gorgeous. It's a subtle and classy look.

Hummingbird and floral nail art

Friday, March 28, 2014

Spring is in the air - somewhere anyway. Actually, it hasn't been too cold here lately in Wyoming. The trees are actually trying to bud out. But I am sure Mother Nature has another winter storm to send our way before she let's us experience the true season.

But I am longing for Spring weather. I love to sit out by the pond and watch the birds, fish, and enjoy the flowers. So it's this time of year that I tend to use those elements in my nail art.

I used OPI Visions of Love for the base color. Then I used acrylic paint for the flowers and the hummingbird. My hummingbird didn't come out as well as I would have liked. But it's passable.

Colors by Llarowe - Spring 2014 Holos - swatches (photo heavy)

Thursday, March 27, 2014

Colors by Llarowe - the name itself can send shivers up my spine.  I am in love with her holographic polishes! So when the Spring 2014 collection came out I simply had to have it. HAD too! I took my laptop to work and sat in my car hitting refresh like a madwoman. Score!

These holos are intense. Some are linear and some are scattered; but they are all amazing.

Let's take a look. Unless otherwise mentioned, each swatch is two coats with a top coat of Seche Vite.

Concrete Jungle is an amazing steel gray, scattered holo. The gray seems to come to life with the multiple color prisms that live in the world of gray. Gray is definitely not boring!

Deanna, it's Blue is a blue that seems to encompass all the shades of blue in the universe - in one polish. It's primarily a deep navy blue that comes to life with shimmer and holo particles. And it's a one-coater! It is deep, vampy and pure bliss in a bottle.

House of Blues is a jazzy holographic polish. This is definitely a party in a bottle. A party where blue invited purple. This polish has attitude. It's also a one-coater.

In Another Dimension is a gorgeous deep and murky (in a good way) aqua shade. It's a scattered holo, but the holo is tight enough to add tons of dimension and color shifts.

Lucy, I'm Home is a gorgeous shimmery, linear holographic polish. I can't wait until the sun decides to peek out for a day so I can wear this one with bright spring fashions.

The Mighty Red Baron is one of my faves. This deep red shade is a scattered holo and it has a depth and dimension that cannot be described. I could get lost gazing into this polish. It is simply stunning!

My Big Girl Panties is a holographic dream. It's a silvery, shimmery, lilac shade that has one of the most intense holographic effect I have seen. The color shift in this one is phenomenal. Blues, silvers, purples, golds and more shades come to life on your nails. This is a must have!

Young Turks is a gorgeous turquoise polish with an intense linear holo sheen. It is one of my favorites too! But I am always partial to bright blue shades. Especially shades like this - it's blue with an attitude. It screams to be noticed!
