Feathers and holo nail polish - the perfect duo

Saturday, August 2, 2014

I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend. I am enjoying the last bit of summer and sunshine. And to me, sunshine means holographic nail polish must be worn.

I found some amazing colored feathers at +Hobby Lobby and immediately knew they must be incorporated into some nail art.

The blue spots in the feathers are spot on for Colors by Llarowe, Young Turks holographic nail polish.

So I started with two coats of Young Turks. I love this vibrant, linear holographic polish. Then I applied a coat of top coat (not the fast dry) and laid the feathers on my nail and pressed them down into the top coat. After that was relatively dry I snipped off the edges and added a top coat of +GlistenandGlow  HK Girl fast dry top coat to seal the feathers and provide a high gloss shine. File the edges of the feathers off and I have an instant, exotic manicure.

The idea has been around for a while, but it's great for creating a simple, but classy nail art look. Have you tried the feather mani yet?

The products in this post were purchased by me.
