Stamping and HK Girl review

Friday, April 11, 2014

I received HK Girl to review and I have to admit I was nervous. Why? Because I was comfortable with my top coat of choice - I knew it didn't smear my nail art. I mean, seriously, who wants to spend time creating a nail art look on their nails just to smear it with the top coat. The top coat is supposed to protect your mani.

But I conjured some courage up and decided to dive in feet first - or in this case - hands first.

I started out with a base coat of Colors by Llarowe "Oxen." It is an awesome deep holographic burgundy shade that applies wonderfully. Then I used the Fab Ur Nails FUN 5 stamping plate and stamped Milani Signature Gold on top of Oxen. I love the look of it.

Then it was time to test HK Girl from Glisten and Glow. I applied the top coat and crossed my fingers that it wouldn't smear. It did better than that - it didn't smear and it didn't dull the holo! It also dried to a high gloss shine extremely quickly. Hmmmm, maybe it is good to take a risk now and then. It sure worked in this case. I think I just found another top coat that I trust to protect my nail art creations.

Let's take a look!

HK Girl top coat is available on the Glisten and Glow website for $6.99. I have a cuticle oil and a cuticle and nail balm to share with you too. So stay tuned!

This nail polish was purchased by me. The top coat was sent to me for an honest review. All opinions are my own. Please note that different computer monitors can display colors differently.
