Floral nail art inspired by a coffee cup

Tuesday, February 11, 2014

Inspiration for nail art can come from everyday items. I saw a coffee cup in my cabinet the other day and wondered if I could re-create the amazing floral pattern on it. So I set to work so see if I could manage.

I started out with China Glaze Red Satin for the base color. It was the perfect color for the cup and I love that it is practically a one coat polish.

Then I grabbed my nail art brushes and acrylic paints. Many of you may know that I almost always use acrylic paint for nail art. It is just so much easier to work with and it's very economical.

This nail art is very detailed but it didn't take as long as I thought it would. I love floral nail art because it is so forgiving. I also really liked the colors together.

I topped it off with a coat of Seche Vite. It never smears my nail art and that makes it a "must have" for my nail supply stash. I never allow myself to run low on Sech Vite.

It was extremely hard to try and hold the coffee cup at the right angle and get a good photo. But a few contortions and I managed.

The China Glaze polish was sent to me for an honest review. All opinions are my own. Please note that computer monitors and mobile devices can show colors differently.
