OPI Gwen Stefani Collection swatches

Thursday, January 2, 2014

Happy New Year everyone! 2013 went out with a bang. I found the new OPI Gwen Stefani Collection for sale. I convinced myself I had to try them. All of them! I am going to share six of them with you tonight. Over & over a-gwen with the Swarovski elements will be up in the next couple of days. So stay tuned!

I can't wait to share these so let's jump right in. There are a lot of photos. To see a larger photo just click on it.

4 in the Morning - is a semi-matte slate black with silver shimmer. It is designed for wearing without a top coat. Application was amazing - it applied effortlessly. It dried pretty quickly and I used two coats of polish for these swatches.

And of course I had to try a top coat over this polish. Look at that shine and sparkle! This definitely makes it a versatile polish.

Hey Baby - is a high gloss perfect pink. I love this shade. It isn't too bright to wear in any setting. Application was super sweet. I used two coats and a top coat for these photos.

In True Stefani Fashion - is a glitter top coat with holographic silver glitter. It applies evenly and there is no fishing for glitter. I have it on here over I Sing In Color.

Love.Angel.Music.Baby - is a soft gold that dries semi-matte and has a subtle shimmer. I love this sultry shade - it's classy and chic. This is two coats. Application was phenomenal.

Push and Shove - is a metallic, chrome polish. It is designed to be used over a special base coat called Lay Down That Base for maximum chrome effect. I used the base coat and then applied Push and Shove. You have to make sure to use thin coats and allow it to dry completely before adding the second coat. My biggest issue with it is that it shows every flaw in your nails. And trust me I have flaws - ridges, and lots of them. I tried it over OPI Ridge Filling Base Coat and application was difficult. It needs the special base coat (it comes with the polish) to adhere to the nail. The photos below are with two coats over Lay Down That Base. This polish is meant to be for one night use. Now, I said it shows flaws - would I still wear it? You betcha! It would be perfect for a dinner by candlelight as the chrome finish would be dazzling.

  9. I love Push And Shove- probably going to buy that one very soon - and Hey Baby! When I first saw Hey Baby in the bottle, I thought it would look too much like a pink I already own, but it looks sweeter and softer in your swatches so I'm going to have to rethink my opinion :)

  11. Love this collection. I got the whole set recently from Amazon. I think they are all so wearable, but still unique. Thanks for the lovely swatches. I am wearing Love.Angel.Music.Baby right now with a wax effect top coat. It's awesome. I know this post is pretty late and after the fact, but I was looking to see examples of my new polishes!
