Milani - 2014 nail lacquers - nail art, swatches and review

Monday, January 13, 2014

Milani has released it's 2014 line. And I must say they have outdone themselves. The colors are fresh and pleasing to the eye.

These long wearing, chip-resistant formula polishes have a super glossy finish and are made in the USA.

I have swatched each of the ten polishes in this collection and created three nail art looks with them. I can't wait to show you!

So let's get started. Each of the swatches has two coats of polish and a top coat - unless mentioned otherwise.

Let's start with the water marble. I love the way these earthy tones come together. These polishes are perfect for marbling!

For this water marble design I used Mauve Medley, Peach Innocence, Canyon Country and Vanilla Almond.

Now for some swatches.

Canyon Country - is a sienna shade that truly signifies the colors of the canyons I see here in the high-deserts of Wyoming. I even thought that before I read the name of the polish. Look at that shine!

Cupid's Touch - is a gorgeous pink shade that has an ever so slight hint of purple in it. It's gorgeous!

Golden Romance - is a delightful golden glitter. It has some shades of soft rose tinted glitter in it too. But my camera refused to capture those.  This is three coats. You could probably get away with two coats though. But since the camera tends to show any imperfection I wanted to play it safe and use three coats.

Now it's time for some more nail art. How about a newsprint with floral? I am positively in love with this look! I used Vanilla Almond, Heather, Peach Innocence, Mulberry Sugar and Showy Sea Green (which is from the gold collection and the post on that will be up soon!)

Heather - is a smoky deep purple shade. This is positively perfect to wear on its own or as the base for nail art.

Iced Mango - is a gorgeous burnt orange shimmer polish. It's perfect for any season.

Mauve Medley - is a deep berry cream polish. A classic shade that will carry you through any fashion look.

Mulberry Sugar - is a stunning deep, vampy wine/berry shade with gorgeous shimmer. I think this is my favorite from the collection. Although it's hard to pick just one.

How about another nail art look? Here's a classic cream with shimmer stripes and a floral accent.
Heather is the base color and the stripes are Mulberry Sugar. For the flowers I used White, and Cupid's Touch.

Ok. Back to swatches.

Peach Innocence - is a delightful soft shade of... well peach. It's a very neutral peach and that makes it perfect for a lot of manicures.

Peach Innocence

Vanilla Almond - is the perfect nude color. Whether you want to use it for a completely neutral look or as a base for nail art, it will be the perfect choice to add to your collection.

White - is the classic white color. I love Milani's white polishes. They apply wonderfully. This is three coats.
