Maya Cosmetics - New releases are coming out!

Tuesday, February 26, 2013

I have tried several of the Maya Cosmetics polishes and I must say I am in love with all of them. But these polishes have a special place in my heart.

I talked to the wonderful lady at Maya and she created wonderful collaboration polishes for me and Lisa at Cosmetic Sanctuary. These are designed to go together but of course you can wear them how you want. Sanctuary is a turquoise blue cream/jelly (crelly) polish that has tons of shimmer and is positively gorgeous. Then there is Wyoming Skies which is a glitter top coat.

Now those of you that know me are going to say "You wanted a glitter?" Yep. I wanted them to be a set and Lisa had her heart set on the crelly. But I was elated to be able to help create a polish that had the wonderful colors of the skies I get to see everyday. (Although today you can't see the sky because the snow is blowing so hard all you can see is the white flakes right before they smash into your eyelids at 70 miles per hour.)

Here's Sanctuary! It's a gorgeous, shimmery turquoise polish.

Here's Wyoming Skies over Sanctuary. She completely captured the colors of the skies over the Wyoming mountain ranges. Blues and dusty pinks adorn this glitter top coat.

Zoya Pixie Dust creates magic

Monday, February 25, 2013

Zoya has released the Pixie Dust Collection. Pixie Dust is a textured polish. It has dimension, depth and personality.

A Pixie is a fairylike or elfin creature, especially one that is mischievous. These polishes will bring out the Pixie in you and if you want to tame that Pixie all you have to do is put a top coat on your nails.

I was undecided about textured nail polish. I usually tend to lean toward the traditional side. But while these are different I have to say the affect is stunning. Two coats of polish provided complete opacity. You do have to allow a little longer for drying time though. The texture didn't bother me like I thought it would. It isn't a jagged feeling. It's more of a slight bumpy feel.

There are six colors in this collection and they are earthy yet vibrant.

Let's move on to the swatches. On each of the swatches I applied a top coat on my ring finger. Each swatch has two coats of Pixie Dust.

Chyna - is a deep true red. the texture adds an element of sparkle and dimension.

Dahlia - is a black polish that dries to a deep slate gray. With a top coat it is a black shade though. The texture emits sparkle and shine.

Godiva - is a beige polish. The texture adds sparkle, shine and depth to this nude polish.

Nyx - is a dusty blue shade. This is my favorite of the collection. A mysterious, dusty blue with silver sparkle and shine.

London - is a gray polish. It is a chalky gray with elements of silver.

Sheswai 2013 Spring Summer polish collection

Sunday, February 24, 2013

I am excited to share some exciting new colors with you. Sheswai has released their 2013 Spring and Summer polishes. This season we are seeing tons of pastel shades for Spring. Sheswai has gone out of the box with bold, yet Spring colors.

I love Sheswai polish. Their formulas are amazing. I think I could probably get away with one coat on most of them. And the dry time is phenomenally quick.

Lets move on to the swatches.

Ladylike - is a coral-hued medium pink with some shimmer in it. It is a amazing dusty rose shade and I probably could have gotten away with one coat if I didn't have so many ridges in my nails. This is two coats
