Peppermint candy nail art tutorial

Where did the last year go? It's that time of year again - holiday nail art! Today I have a cute little peppermint candy nail art post for you. I had done this one previously and decided to do it as a tutorial. It really is easy.

Those red and white swirled candies have been a holiday tradition as long as I can remember. Some of the colors from the OPI Mariah Carey Holiday 2013 screamed peppermint to me. So that's what I did.

Here is the one I did a month ago. My nails were longer and the red stripes swirled a little more, but the concept is the same.

And this is the nail art I did for the tutorial.

I started off with a base color of OPI Ski Slope Sweetie. I love this shimmery white with gold tones.

Then I added a dot of OPI In My Santa Suit to the center of each nail. This adds a centerpoint for each candy swirl.

Then using In My Santa Suit again, I made stripes radiating out from the center. I should have "swirled" these a little more I think. Just make sure that the gaps between each line equal an even number. You can make as many of these as you want.

Then I filled in every other gap with the same red polish.

I outlined the red with OPI "This Gown Needs a Crown." I topped it off with a coat of Seche Vite and there you have it!
