Floral nail art inspired by... Palmolive?

Wednesday, October 16, 2013

Believe it or not I was washing the dishes... (Please don't tell my husband as he will never believe you.) I grabbed my new bottle of Palmolive Lotus Blossom and Lavender dish soap (which I love by the way) and I saw the gorgeous flowers on the bottle. I immediately stopped washing the dishes and sat down to try to create some nail art. I have to admit this was much more fun than doing dishes!

I started out with a base color of Barielle "One Shade of Gray." I wanted a darker color to show that floral nail art can be worn anytime of the year... not just Spring or Summer. I love grays as a canvas for nail art.

Then I wrangled all the concentration I could muster and set to work on the flowers. I used acrylic paint for the flowers. I positively love using acrylic paint for nail art. You can mix the color to get any shade you want and it's only a couple of bucks for a 2 ounce container. Plus if you have used a top coat prior to painting you can simply wipe it off if you make a mistake - instant bonus.

  9. These are wonderful! I think you did a superb job of making them 'pop' against the darker background, something I often have trouble with. :)
