Tribal nail art with Zoya

Tuesday, September 10, 2013

I saw some gorgeous tribal designs on Pinterest and I just had to try my hand at one of them. I would love to give credit to the person I borrowed the design from but it didn't have a water mark and didn't link back to a page. So maybe one of you will recognize the look.

The colors I used were a bit more Fall inspired and I love the color combination. I used Zoya polishes for this look. The polishes I used are from left to right - Purity, Flynn, Breezi, Natty and Toni. I also used a nail art brush and a dotting tool.

I used a base color of Natty and then painted on the stripes and added dots. It was time consuming but not all that hard. Just simple lines and dots. I break my nail art down into basic shapes.

I got in a little too much of a hurry putting on the top coat though. I seriously smeared the pinky nail. I rarely smear my designs when I use Seche Vite. But I obviously didn't wait long enough.

Well, I am off to remove the polish on my pinky and recreate the look on that nail.

What colors would you use for this look?

  1. This looks freaking incredible!! You did such a great job with the freehand designs and the color combination you chose is to die for... I want a sweater that looks just like your nails! It would be perfect for fall. Now I just wish I could sew! Haha! <3

And I think I know which nail art you're talking about... Is it this yellow tribal look?

The picture I have has a watermark that says the girl's instagram name hanick7107. If that's not her, then disregard everything haha.

  2. That's not the one I saw but it is the same exact look! The one I saw was pink. Thanks for letting me know! So who knows which came first. But this one is completely gorgeous!

  3. Super cute! Your attention to detail is always fabulous!

  4. Wow, that is awesome. Fab design!

  5. This is gorgeous! I really need to try and do a tribal mani!

I may not always have time to respond to your comments. But I read each and every one of them.
