More Indie polishes - today it's Penelope Luz!

Wednesday, September 18, 2013

And Indie week continues! I have another new-to-me brand of polish to share with you today - Penelope Luz.

I have two of these glamorous polishes today. The polishes have a great formula. There was no fishing for glitter, or gold,  and they applied wonderfully and smoothly.

You can buy these polishes and more from this Indie maker at Color4Nails.

Let's move straight on to the swatches.

Lotus - is a clear base polish with small, matte white, pink and black glitters. It applied extremely easily and smoothly. I only used one coat. You could use it on its own with several coats for complete coverage; but I used it over a base color. As a matter of fact I used it over two base colors. I started off applying it over Alanna Renee "It's a Girl" and I liked that but I didn't think it would show you the different colors of glitter. So then I applied it over Seche "Happy, As Is." This truly showed the different colors of matte glitter.

Midas - is a gold flake top coat. I love gold flakies and this is no exception. The gold applies wonderfully and lays flat on the nail. It looks classy and rich. I applied it over China Glaze Queen B.

I am definitely going to be watching this Indie maker for new polishes and add more to my stash.

  7. Is there a certain way to apply the gold leaf so it lies flat? I have the exact same gold leaf top coat and I find all the gold bits stick up and refuse to lay flat :(

    1. I only had one piece that didn't want to play nice. I used a small dotting tool and flattened it quickly.
