Milani Retro Glam Collection swatches and nail art

Saturday, July 13, 2013

I have a phenomenal collection to review for you today. Milani will be releasing a new collection in August - the Retro Glam Collection. Yesterday I posted the Fantastical Plumage Collection.

Milani polishes are one of my favorites for nail art. They are quality, affordable polishes. This collection definitely lives up to my expectations. It's eye catching colors are soft and classy. The formula on these polishes is amazing.- they applied evenly and dried to a high gloss shine. Two coats gave me the opacity I like to see in a manicure.

The collection, and the names of the polishes, make me think of old fashioned soda shops. Juke boxes, steel counters and swivel chairs are what came to mind when I was swatching.

Let's move on to the swatches. I used two coats in all of these swatches. I also used them together for basic nail art just to show you the range of possibilities.

Almond Bliss - is a soft off white polish. The creamy color is perfect alone or with toppings.

Creamy Pistachio - is a soft, pastel green shade. This is my favorite of the collection.

Mint Chip - is a bolder shade of green. This shade is cool and crisp.

Raspberry Delight - is a vibrant shade of pink.  Use this one on its own or as a topping for a lighter shade.

Strawberry Shake - is a soft pink. It is a sweet delight of a color.

Sprinkles - is a black and white glitter polish. Multi-shaped glitter is the perfect sprinkle topping for the sweet polishes in this collection.

Now for the nail art that I created with this collection. This is an abstract nail art look that used all the polishes in the collection except for Sprinkles.

The soft shades of this collection made me think of classic roses.

Milani Retro Glam will be for sale at CVS and Meijer stores during the month of August. It will also be available online at milanicosmetics.com.

These polishes were sent to me for an honest review. All opinions are my own. Please note that computer monitors may differ in color.

  8. Pretty please...how did you create the abstract nail art? It's so swirly and creamy, it makes me want a triple ice cream cone. :)

    1. It really was rather easy. It was created with nail art brushes. It is similar to this one (without the dots)http://www.setinlacquer.com/2012/05/spin-on-color-blocking.html.
