Springtime blues - rose nail art

Saturday, May 4, 2013

Springtime is finally making an appearance in Wyoming. The snow is almost gone except for a few drift remaining around to remind me that Mother Nature is the boss around here. The grass is turning green and the sun is shining. So of course I had to had to create some Spring nail art.

I received a couple of Color Club polishes to share with you. I used  Color Club Evolution as the base for my nail art. It is a wonderful sky blue. It did require three coats to bring it to the opacity I wanted. If I were careful I am sure I could have gotten away with two coats. It dries to a high gloss shine relatively fast.

Then I used acrylic paints to create the roses. The roses really weren't hard. Just paint a circle with some rough edges. Then using darker and lighter shades paint lines. These lines will add to the dimension of the roses. Then I used a green acrylic paint to add stems for the rosebuds and leaves around the roses. Finish with a high gloss top coat and your finished. I used the new Sinful Colors Over the Top topcoat.

What are you wearing on your nails to celebrate Spring?

The Color Club polish featured above was sent to me for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

  1. This is so beautiful! I love the base color and I like how you chose to do blue flowers on a blue base. Gorgeous.
