Coastal Scents - Coats swatches

Friday, August 31, 2012

I recently purchased one of those Living Social deal packages. It was $12 for a $25 CoastalScents.com credit. I looked around their site and found these polishes which were on sale for 99 cents each. Or I could get the whole set for $25. Guess which option I picked? Yep. I got the set.

For the price I wasn't sure what to expect. I have to say these polishes surprised me -  I like them. Almost all of them needed three coats. But the third coat dried to a high gloss and the colors are great. The polishes also dry quickly. The biggest drawback to these polishes is the length of the brush. The brush and lid are really short and took a little getting used to.

"Coastal Scents has established the COAT Collection; an array of gorgeous nail colors from delicate neutrals and vivid creams to rich metallics and dazzling shimmers. The collection also includes a protective base coat and a shine intensifying top coat for salon perfect nails after every application. All 27 polishes are formulated to dry quickly and to be chip resistant for long wear." - Coastal Scents website

Let's move on to the swatches. This is not the entire set.

Morning Glory is a wonderful bright, bold blue. The name suits it well as it does remind me of Morning Glory flowers. It is probably my favorite polish of the set.

Nebula is a gorgeous deep indigo color with strong tones of purple and has lots of shimmer to it.

Galaxy is a natural brown with copper tones and glimmer and glitz.

Forget Me Not is a beautiful powder blue shade.

Cosmic has a black base with green and gold flakes in it. It is my least favorite of the group. It just seemed to come out streaky and the flakes didn't want to lay flat.

Comet is a gorgeous azure blue with lots of shimmer.

Meteorite is a wonderful deep brown with lots of shimmer.

Wisteria is a muted purple. It is another of my favorites of this line.

Tweedia is a very light shade of sea foam green. It is quite shimmery.

Peony is a bright hot pink.

Bottom line: A great polish doesn't have to cost a lot. These polishes are proof of that fact. Coastal Scents polishes can be purchased for $1.99 at CoastalScents.com. But right now they are value priced at 99 cents each.

These polishes were purchased by me and all opinions given are my own.

NOTD: Gosh Galaxy

Monday, August 27, 2012

A polish loving friend can get Gosh polishes. So when she offered to pick me up a couple I quickly clicked my way over to send her enough money to buy two and told her to surprise me. Well, that didn't last long as I couldn't wait to hear what she was going to surprise me with. She said she picked up Gosh Gasoline and Galaxy. Galaxy is a new one and I am so glad she picked this one.

A wonderful and luxurious coppery brown shade with tons of micro glitter. I love it!

The swatches below are with two coats.

This was my first Gosh polish and you can bet it won't be my last!

PopBeauty - swatches and review

I recently received some great polishes to share with you - PopBeauty. I couldn't wait to share these. The colors and formula are great. They also had a relatively quick drying time. They all dried to a super high gloss shine except for Xmas which dried almost matte. I used a top coat for the swatches on that one.

"Get your glitterati on or spark the dark with a flouro neon.
Whatever your mood - POP has the hue for you! Each Nail Glam shade is non-occlusive so it won't stain nails, it also contains nylon creating a strengthening non-chip barrier, making nail glams staying power truly sensational!" -

Let me start off with my absolute favorite - Magenta Muse. See? You thought it would be the blue one - didn't you? Magenta Muse is a wonderful shimmery deep pink - magenta actually describes it quite well.

Lavender Love is an extremely light shade of lilac. A soft gray with a hint of lavender. It's quite lovely. This did require three coats.

Poetic Peacock is a stunning deep blue/green shimmery polish. Tons of micro glitter make this polish breathtaking.

Tangerine Taste is another of my favorites. A wonderful shade that reminds me of orange sherbet.

Xmas is jam packed with micro glitter. Two coats of this made for a wonderful bright, glittery bold red.

Bottom line: Pop Beauty is a polish brand I will be watching. The colors are stunning and the formula is wonderful. Pop Beauty can be purchased at http://popbeauty.co.uk/ for $10.

Sabrina Sato Desejos Collection swatches

Sunday, August 26, 2012

Special effect top coats can transform any polish color into a stunning work of art. And that is just what these Sabrina Sato Desejos polishes do. These polishes provide shine and depth to the base color.

Micro glitter and flakies abound in these polishes. The formula is great and they applied smoothly and evenly. The dry time was relatively quick too.

Sabrina Sato polishes will be available at Llarowe. Llarowe is a one-stop shop for specialty nail polishes that aren't available in U.S. stores.

Let's move on to the swatches.

Sabrina Sato Desejos - Quero Amor over Sabrina Sato Ballet. I simply love this combination. Pearly white with lots of classy shimmer and shine. Light pink iridescent flakies provide an immense amount of subtle sparkle.

Sabrina Sato Dancers Collection swatches

Sabrina Sato Dancers Collection polishes are stunning. I had the opportunity to swatch this collection and I am impressed. These polishes are vibrant and classy. I would never have guessed that I would love the off-white polishes. But I do! I think they will hold a very special spot in my polish collection.

These polishes have a great formula and a wonderful dry time. They are also quite deceptive. In the bottle they are pretty, but on the nail the colors truly come to life. The swatches below do not have a top coat and still have a wonderful high-gloss shine.

Sabrina Sato polishes will be available at Llarowe. Llarowe is a one-stop shop for specialty nail polishes that aren't available in U.S. stores.

Let's move on to the swatches.

Lambada is a gorgeous creamy and shimmery off-white polish with a very soft pink iridescence. It is quite stunning. I can't help but think of a glamorous wedding when I see these types of polishes.

Baile is another super off-white polish with tons of micro flakes that add a wonderful shimmer and shine. I never would have thought that I would like these off-white polishes as much as I do. My favorite polish color - which is normally blue - may have a rival now.

Speaking of blue - Groove is positively gorgeous. A gorgeous azure blue with lots of micro flakes that provide depth and shimmery goodness.

Sabrina Sato Dreams Collection swatches

Today I have some wonderful polishes from the Sabrina Sato Dreams Collection. These are rich, yet soft colors that apply like a dream. Most of them only required two coats for  good opacity and a lovely shine. All of the polishes have tons of shimmer and shine.

Sabrina Sato polishes will be available at Llarowe. Llarowe is a one-stop shop for specialty nail polishes that aren't available in U.S. stores.

Let's move on to the swatches. These swatches do not have a top coat.

Fiesta is a wonderful aqua blue. The coverage was great and the shimmer and shine were amazing.

Next up is Balada. A soft purple color that has undertones of gray.

And I think this is my favorite. Which is a shocker for me as normally I go for bright and bold. But Ballet is a wonderful off-white shade that has tons of iridescence shimmer and shine. And when I put a top coat of Sabrina Sato Quero Amor on it was simply amazing. But that's a different collection and is coming soon.

Confete was a difficult one to capture on camera. It is a glorious soft, shimmery pink. It screams all things girly and is an amazing color. This is three coats.

Disco is a soft, foamy grayish blue with undertones of green. I can't quite call it seafoam as it is a unique color that is hard to describe. But needless to say it is gorgeous.
