Santa Hat nail art tutorial

Saturday, December 1, 2012

I have a party to go to tonight so I wanted to wear something festive. I decided on Santa's hat.

This is an easy nail art to create. I am going to show you step by step how I created this mani.

Here is the completed mani.

Christmas nail art - Santa's Hat
Christmas nail art - Santa's Hat

Make sure you prep your nails with a good base coat.

Step 1 - I used Zoya Ziv as the base color.

Step 2 - I used Zoya Elisa for the hat. I started of with a diagonal line made by using a nail art brush.

Step 3 - I added a connecting line with a curve to it.

Step 4 - I added a third shorter line with a little stronger curve to it. Now I have the outline of the hat.

Step 5 - I filled in the outline with Zoya Elisa.

Step 6 - I used Zoya Purity with a nail art brush for the fur at the base of the hat. Then using a dotting tool I added the pom pom on the end of the hat.

Step 7 - I didn't show this step but I used a dotting tool and added dots of Zoya Trixie to the fur on the edge. Then I added dots of Purity on the surrounding area to look like snow flakes.

I will be posting holiday nail art here on a pretty regular basis. Make sure to check back!

  6. How adorable! I love all the polishes you used xoxo

  7. I ordered two new polishes online beginning to wish had not taken the gold one out my basket now. Oh well. This is fab.

    1. Thanks! If you have silver that would work too. Almost any base color you would like. That's what makes it fun.

  8. Love This!
    Thanks for the Great tutorial!

  9. I love Ziv! I think if you look carefully, you flipped your tutorial photos - the cap points off in the opposite direction if you follow the lines on the tutorial - but I got the basic idea - thanks - I need all the help I can get as I so do not do well with free hand nail art typically. I can follow along with things like these however - and I even have all the shades!

    1. Hmmmm, maybe. I think it's because it's upside down though. But it's possible...

Thank you and I bet yours are going to look great!

  10. looks easy and super cute. Def gonna try it out :D
