Gradient or sponging manicure

I recently figured out the art of sponging gradients thanks to some tips from readers. I am not sure I love this color combo but I think it is actually growing on me.

I used OPI Fly, Call me Gwen-ever and Fiercely Fiona.

I started with a base coat to protect the natural nail. Then I used a base color of Fiercely Fiona and used a top coat of Seche Vite fast dry top coat.

Then I painted a stripe of each color on a glossy piece of paper. After I tore off a piece of a cosmetic sponge I dabbed it in the polish making sure to dab it up and down to mix the colors a little.

Then I simply applied the sponge to each finger in several dabs. I really didn't think about the yellow and blue making green... I am really not sure why as it is a basic fact of color. I just liked how the polishes looked in the bottles next to each other.

But basically I was practicing my sponging techniques.
